Can a IDE burner copy a patched psx game?

I have a IDE burner and use CDRwin, i have no problems backingup my non protected games but when I need to do a patch it always goes wrong.
So I 'm thinking is there something I am doing wrong, but I have all the right settings and instuctions from pyrats helpfiles or do I need a new burner.

Yah, I see no reason, mine's an ide 8432 burner.

Not all patches work tho, eg, the crash team race trainer/crack don't work for me, but the plain vanilla crack does..

double check with others about what crack u r using and what game as some r a pain

I use an IDE burner & CDRWin with no problems at all, just make sure you are downloading the right version of the patch!! I've patched loads of games with no problems!

Good Luck!

the games I tried to patch were Crash Team Racing and wipeout3. I used the patches for PAL(UK)from Paradox. I also have Soul Reaver but after the faillure with the other 2 I stopped.
If you know of other patches for these games that work please let me know. Happy Newyear
Good Luck!

There are some burners that can copy non protected games quite ok, but will NEVER write a patched file properly. Maybe your burner is one of these.

go and get your self a copy of Clone cd then you won´t have to add any patches anymore to your psx games( if your cd-r is supported by Clone, most of the sonys are and almost all of the plextors)

so where can i get myself a copy of this clone cd and how does it make it so you dont need to patch the cd's ?

it makes a exact copy of the cd

How about patching to PAL/NTSC?

Clone does'nt make an exact copy as it cant read the pressed section of the PSX original this isnt a failier of cdclone but a physical impossibility of the reader, but true to say you wont need to worry about many of the protection fixes except for the modchip protection fixes. As clone copies the protection over to the backup it also copies any modchip protection detection so when the backup is booted the protection is still active in the backup cd.

BOT-CK is right as always in that it may be your burner when writing a patched image, i have an IDE HP8100i which is very stable and never gives me an ounce of trouble.

AS far as PAL/NTSC, Trainers and Modchip Protection patches, then you will still require CDRWin to create the image and then patch the image before durning the image.
