if you have a mod-chip you should really read this
with all of the new protections coming out for games.. and patches not being instaltly available, it sorta sucks (especially the new 989 protection).. cos the games detect your mod-chip & you cant play the games.. and who really wants to buy a new mod-chip every few months? or get one of those expensive assed plug-mods that you still have to do the swap trick with? i've found a pretty cool solution around this. i hooked up a continuos tago switch to my mod-chip. i attatched it to the c721 wire (9001 model). like, i cut the wire going between the mod-chip & the solder point on the psx m/b, extended both cut ends of the wire so they would reach the outside of the playstation, then i hooked it up to the tago switch. and i glued the tago switch to the playstation. now i can turn the chip on and off like a light switch.. basically, i just have it on so the mod chip can tell the psx its an original game & that its the right country code, and whatever else. after that, i switch it off. and the game plays on like it should & doesnt detect i have a mod-chip, cos its not fully installed... its a breeze. you can get the tago switch & wire from radio shack. the tools you need are a phillips head screw driver, some wire cutters (or scissors), a little bit of glue.. its pretty much all self explanitory.. by the way, i'm not responsible if you #### up your playstation, mod-chip, parts or accessories, or yourself. this is pretty much a brainless procedure, you should be able to figure it out.
