psx modchips vs. game enhacers (help)
I was wondering which of the two i should get. I want to be able to play backups of games that are new. Should I get one of those stealth modchips or a game enhancer. Whats better. Also wheres a good place to get either of the two. Also do the new stealth modchips get detected by anti-mod games cause someone said they did i think.
Thanks |
if anyone would help that would be great.
i say get the game enhancer.
Okay one last thing. Are game enhancers the same thing as a goldfinger.
What you want to do is get yourself a game enhancer. They cannot be detected by anti modchip games, they work on all of the latest games, they come with a system to let you run cheats with your games, and there is no internal work required so you don't void your playstations warentee. The only thing is that you have to have a parallel/io port on the back of your playstation. The new 9xxx series playstations don't have these, but all other models do. Check it out before you get one. If you want to order an external mod, go to the following address : http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~naginata/main.html

Thanks for your help. I see that Game enhancers do sound better and i heard you just put a code in or something for some games and they work pretty cool. If this is so much better why do ppl still get those mod chips.
WHy? Because with a Game Enhancer you have to place an original game or demo in the psx let it spin for 5 seconds until it stops and replace it with the backup/import. With a mod-chip you just pop a game in and play. I have a Goldfinger and was getting VERY annoyed by this. My friend gave me a modchip "stealth" for $10 . . . BUT for some reason it didnt work in stealth. So i soldered it on as a regular chip and it works and I can use a free downloadable and burnable game enhancer cd which i hear defeats the anti-mod protection PLUS i think i can use my game enhance along with the chip. This was my first time soldering anything and it worked out fine "did it 2day". So if you want convienience then go for a chip. If you are a cautious person and think you would suck at soldering and dont mind swaping then go for a game enhance "the stealth works with ALL games"

i bought the stealth 7 wire mod chip and soldered it in successfully .. are the 100% compatiable with every game ( even anti mod games ) such as dino crisis or do i have to download those patches and patch the games before they play ( if they are 100% compatiable then what are those patches for )
Ok, REGULAR 4 wire modchips can be detected by new games and the game locks up. Stealth 7 wire chips cannot be detected by new games. Game Enhancers cannot be dectected either. Patches are usually for trainers, pal2ntsc converter, or non-anti-mod . .for people with a 4wire chip. But if you have a 4wire you can just use the action replay cd "free for download at megagames.com" and there ya go . . .

You guys seem like you have it covered. I have a game enhancer and the only problem you would have is playing multi-disc games on the game enhancer. You cant do it unless it has a save function at the end of the the disc like FF's usually do. Others dont and you are screwed.
i heard you still can switch out . . .just have 2 take the disk out while its spinning . . .
