Question about psone modchip (please answer, i got no response to my last post!!!)
Hey i was just wondering;
Is there a psone chip? Is it the same chip as the original PSX? Thanx in advance and please reply ASAP With as many details as possible, i'm sure it will help both me and other newbies. Thanx :D |
YOU HAVE TO USE A SPECIAL MOD-CHIP. IT IS A SIX WIRE MOD.
YOU CAN GET IT AT http://javex.com THEY ALSO GIVE INSTRUCTIONS. DID ONE THIS EVENING AND IT WORKS FINE. |
Not true, I am suppling and fitting standard 4 wire mod-chips.

You can use a 4 wire standard chip (3 wires plus a link) but you will need a boot disk to play imports. Try looking here:

Neo technologies
Hi
The best thing to do is visit www.psx.co.uk and look for the chips, its dead easy to find. Neo technologies will supply you a pre-wired to chip to save on hassle. Alternatively I'll chip the thing for you if you want to send it to me, I did about 100 of these things before christmas, mostly for the directors kids where i work. Not to sound like i'm kissing ass or anything, but neo technologies have never let me down, even when i've phoned at 4pm wanting chips delivered by 10am the next day!! I only run a 5 wire mod, you miss out number 3 because its faster and number 3 doesn't control anything. The number 3 is quite a tricky one to solder if you're in-experienced anyway. Hope this clears things up. r5gtt.itgo.com |
