Need some help backing up PSX games

I recently downloaded the latest version of CDRWIN followed the settings suggested on that most folks have suggested. I get no errors from reading and copying the game, but when I run it through my PSX it won't read. I've tried a friends CD which he made, and had no problems playing the game.

I tried using Adaptec's Easy CD-Creator. It lets me copy my games, but when I try to play them, the quality is not that good at all. It would read once in awhile or sometimes the FMV are jittery or choppy. Sometimes the game freezes at certain points in the game. Thats one of the reasons, I'm hoping someone can help me get CDRWIN to work, and hopefully it'll copy games better.

Thanks.

Go to http://cdrsoft.net and download either psx copy 6.2 or clone cd. Clone cd is probably the easiest software to use, and is one of the best copy utilities out there. The slower you burn (1X instead of 4X) the higher quality it will be. you can also download clone from the link above this file forum at psxcopyworld. you have to search for it but theres a software link right there. let me know how it works.

sony uses cheap lasers in their psx's, so you must burn at a slower speed 4x or slower, and you can't use cheapo media. the psx requires you to use quality media from name brand companies.

at least the DC will read anything.

igottashit666 is right!!
The media you are using might be your problem!! CDRwin seemed to give me a few problems similar to what your saying.
Actually, I went to CloneCD and my PSX burning has been very good on a consistency. You might look into that software... its really basic to use as well!!

I read thru clonecd's documentation and its said that some CD burners don't support DAO RAW...I guess thats why I can't copy PSX games. I received an error when I tried to copy in DAO. I had to use SAO and when I tried it...it copied, but it didn't play on the PSX just like the other softwares I've used; CDRWIN, Nero, Adaptec EZ CD Creator Deluxe, Blind Write and Clone CD.
