some general ps2 neo questions
Ok, I'm getting a PAL PS2 with a neo 2.2 chip modded in. I've already got lots of games. Most of them are NTSC. Can I play these NTSC games on my PAL PS2 if I write them to cd? Do I need a special cable (RGB?)? Or is it better to use NTSC -> PAL patches? And what are these EA patches? Do I need them?
And how do I boot those games, do I need Gameshark or something? I've read some faqs and some sites, but these things arent really clear to me yet. Please take the time to awnser them :) thanks in advance! |

ANSWER: BLAZE Scart cable is what you should use. Then no patching if you use CloneCD to copy CD games and you have a fully compatible burner. (See ####://www.elby.com) And what are these EA patches? Do I need them? ANSWER: Not if you use CloneCD to copy the CD games And how do I boot those games, do I need Gameshark or something? I've read some faqs and some sites, but these things arent really clear to me yet. ANSWER: It's very clear at ####://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk and ####://www.chipzone.com/ps2booting.cfm DVD Region X is the simplest booting method |
Hmm, should have told that I only have iso's, but I presume I can just use cdrwin for that?

DVD Region X, ok, I can get that. Hmm, DVD? I can use this cd to boot cdr backups?
ANSWER; DVDRX absolutely fine for CD-R backups. The reason is that DVDRX, GS2/AR2, Memory Manager Plus are boot procedures that do things first and then haul in a game behind it. A modchip is required to allow that game to be a backup. DVDRX original purpose was to allow a selected region DVD movie to be viewed. But it follows the rules I have described above so it allows games to be booted. |
Thanks!
