can someone tell me what a backup game actually is, please?

It's basically a copy of a game made on a CD Writer by burning a blank disc. You can legally only make copies of games you own ( but wheres the fun in that?). It is called a backup as it saves the need to use your original discs and so saves them from wear and tear.
