Making a copy of a backup of NBA2k2.
 
I have a problem making a copy of a backup of Echelon's release of NBA 2K2.

First I tried using the Discjuggler method (reading and burning with Discjuggler). That CD won't boot.

Then I tried the Echelon selfboot tutorial method, adding a dummy file. That boots, but goes to the DC menu once the intro FMV is over.
I tried the same method without a dummy file and got the same result.
What's more, I cannot press any buttons during the intro FMV (which usually bypasses the intro and goes to the title menu).

I have made copies of backups that I have plenty of times, but never encountered this.

Any ideas? And will I have the same problem with Echelon's NFL 2K2?

Well, I sort of figured the problem out.

I have 2 CD burners. One is a Yamaha, and one is an Acer.

I normally use the Yamaha to read/burn games. The only time I use the Acer is when I need to burn a CloneCD game, since it supports DAO.

The whole time I was trying to read NBA 2K2, I was using the Yamaha like normal. It would read the backup CD as 2 sessions, 1 track. Using the Acer, it read it as 2 sessions, 2 tracks.

Also, normally the first track of a CDI file is an audio file. Well NBA 2K2 (and NFL 2K2) has as its first track a CD-XA track. I'm not sure, but I suppose this means that it will selfboot in post-OCT 2000 Dreamcasts.

So, I got it working.

Anyone know why I had this problem, and why using my Acer CD-RW drive instead of my normal DC backup CD-RW drive would work?
