need help copying MSR (metropolis street racing) from back-up

anyone successfully burn out a copy of MSR from a back up? I borrow a backed up copy of MSR from my friend the other day and tried to copy it w/ DJ3. i saved it as a image, then burned it back out. it game me an error regarding "session fixation error". I then notice that my old burner doesn't burn 300 sector or less. Then i tried to convert it back to non-selfboot. during the process of hex editing, i edit the 1st_read.bin and msr.bin file. when i tried to play it, it loads to the intro, showing the whole intro and then jumps back to the main dreamcast screen where i have to boot it up again. when i tried to boot it up again...it just shows the intro and back to the main Dreamcast screen AGAIN... noticing this is not going to work out..i tried another method. i went to this site ####://luna.spaceports.com/~selfboot/Tutorial_Index/tutorial_index.htm .....and tried the "How to burn M.S.R & End of Buffer Under Run Problems" ...i followed every procedures and the disc came out pretty good (cd-rom able to recognize it) but it didn't boot on my dreamcast. So , instead of making any more coasters, i wanna know if anyone could help me out here.
Also, i think there is a dummy file in there called 0a.dat and i was wondering if it would affect it methods i was using. If i wanna get rid of the dummy file, can i just delete it or do i have to use a special proggie to remove it?

THANKS

what you should do is actually convert your cdi image into a nero image, it should help. use cdi2nero 0.9
