terraterm delimma
When I try to open terra term to backup my games I have a slight problem. I set up all the settings like I am supposed to (as per the dreamrip readme says) but I hit ENTER and instead of the ">" I am supposed to get I get a ?C (command unknown) and then I have to reboot the Dreamcast with the serial slave disk. I must have something wrong somewhere. Can someone please help?

download the dcrip update ftrom http://www.dccopyworld.com then it make all steps for you!
|
I have the dcrip from dccopyworld also, but it does the same thing. Maybe I am doing something wrong or maybe there is something wrong with my coders cable. Any ideas?
|
i mean you have to download the "Enhanced Dcrip.ttl" then you donīt must hit enter or anything else, he makes all for you!
|
but even with the enhanced dcrip.ttl it should give you screen output in tterm right? I get nothing..... I really think it is my cable or my pc's serial port (only have one). But I will try another pc if I can get it to boot long enough.
|
ok I really do think something is wrong because the cd is not even spinning in the tray. any ideas? Maybe it is my cable.

CDRW discs get that response from my DC. Even blue surfaced CD-R discs refuse to spin on my machine. The light green or champagne colored discs work flawlessly though.
Try a different brand of discs - possibly with a lighter color (but not CDRW). That might fix your problem. BTW, the lighter discs that work like a champ for me in both my Dreamcast and my Apex AD-600A DVD/VCD player are CompUSA branded. They come in the 50 disc spindle and are gold on the top. They are 80 minute 16x discs with a very light greenish color on the recording surface. If you've got a CompUSA nearby, just stop in and get some. If not, you may be able to get them via their online store at http://www.compusa.com . Good luck. |
The cd-r is not the problem. My dc plays cd-r's perfectly. The serial-slave boots up and the sides turn blue but when I go to connect through terraterm it is like the computer does not see the dc. I am thinking it is 1.) the cable itself (dang $25 cable with $20 shipping....) 2.) the serial port on the pc, or 3.) the serial slave software itself. well it could be the dc itself but unlikely.

maybe itīs the cable ,try another

I think I will but only after I try another PC. I hate to waste another $45 on one from lik-sang unless someone has one here in the US that knows works... maybe I could get one from them.
