Am I basting a turkey or getting back from vacation?

I'm curious about a rar I put together today. When it was finished, I had a cdi and 2 executable files, unpack and inject. I'm not the dumbest dude on the planet, but I was wondering what the purpose of this process was all about. It seemed to create some wav files when I ran unpack.exe, then injected them into the cdi when I ran inject.exe, lucky guess I suppose. It was so nice as to delete the pesky wav files when it finished. I understand that the process is required for the cdi to burn correctly, I just wanna know why. Call it my need to know.

Didn't you download the .NFO file (or get one in the archive)?

It should have explained that you first run the "UNPACK" program, which will extract a bunch of MP3s to .WAV format, then you run the "INJECT" program to insert the .WAV files into the .CDI. You do all of this before you burn the .CDI to the disc, of course, unless you don't want the audio tracks on your game.

Yep I did, but it didn't mention how to use unpack and inject (they probably assume you already know the basics); using the programs correctly is not my problem, I just wanted to know why. I was merely curious, but now I have a whole other concern (boy you stepped in it now, didn't you).

Upon further inspection, looks like I have to patch the cdi as well in order for the sound to work correctly, but the directions seem a little vague for my tiny brain. Take a looksee:

Now I have the cdi (e-tdvr.cdi) and the file the directions refer to (e-tdvfix.ppf) but I'm unsure of the APPLYPPF.EXE part. Is this an executable I'm supposed to have? Is this a DOS command? Thanks in advance for your help.

This me calling me a dumbass, no other flames needed. I know what APPLYPPF is, was merely a brainfart on my part. Thanks anyway. Pretty sure I've got it licked now. *swift self-kick in the pants*
