is there a difference between a neo key&usb mod
 

i just bought a neo key and i was wondering if there is a difference between that and a usb mod. and does the neo key play dvd(games)backups on a dvd r?

They are the same. No usb mod is capable of playing dvdr backups without using the card swap trick
