PLEXTOR IS TOP *THE BEST*!
I have used many different brands and models of writers. I must say to ANYONE thinking of buying a burner, "GET A PLEXTOR AND NEVER GO BACK!"
I have a 12/10/32x PlexWriter. These things have what's called "Burn Proof" technology. I can burn any type of cd at full tilt, while running macro programs in background, browseing the web, empting recycle bin...anything you can imagine. You can confidently multi-task. I believe I've seen the biggest programs with HP writers. they are not so good at letting you multi-task. Just my 2 cents. hope it helps. |
Plextor, hitachi, panasonic seem to be the most reliable and supported CD-R/RW - I have a Plextor + Hitachi - never have any problems...

Buy the new Pextor 24/10/40!
Works Perfekt! With Clone CD you can make perfekt 1:1 copies of all games, SafeDisk2 protected games 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I use a Yamaha 2100 16X10x40 and I've yet to have a problem with it. No Burn-proofing though but...eh. You can't have everything.
I don't know if anyone has gotten one of those combo drives made by cendyne, but they are the WORST pieces of crap ever made. it is ONLY compatible with nero and nothing else. The only thing they're good for is playing DVD's |
i have the tdk. with the burn proof buffer underun, i can multi-task and burn at the same time. only $170 after rebate from circuit city

Plextor is definately the Cadillac for CDRWs.. But I still choose a Yammie for Win 95/98/ME... For NT/2K I would go for a an HP...
|
what do you think about the Que! 24x10x40. It has burnproof and costs about 99 bucks.
