How do I backup my DC games? *Joke* So if I burn the boot disk and re####t my dc what should it do? Same goes for bootable cds. Ive tried this but it only seems to fail. I will try better cds soon too. I was hoping you could tell me also if I burn a backup, then want to copy the beckup do I need to use the ISO image I D/L or can I just copy from the first CD? PS I Tried joining the forum and it says admin has to accept my membership. Ive waited a week nearly for this to happen and still no reply yet. Also I feel for you with these newbies posting stupid questions. :-) |
you need to explain your predicament a bit further... did you burn from an image and if so what format? CDI? CCD? NRG? the boot cd should load up a rotating reigndeer that says please insert disk. please tell me you didn't do the following, download files with the extension .001 and burn that to a disk. i know many newbies that download the winrar files and just try burning them to the cd hopeing for a miracle.

First, ##### your email for the confirmation of the forum registration. I believe I had to get the email and enter something, but I'm not sure anymore.
If you're trying to backup original Dreamcast games (not copies), you cannot do it with your regular CD-R/CDRW drive. It won't read more than about 3-4 meg of unusable data. If you really want to copy your original Dreamcast games, you'll need to RIP them via serial cable from your Dreamcast to your PC. Then they have to be extracted, downsampled, hacked, cracked, patched, etc., before you get a usable disc. Just look for the Release version of whatever game you want to copy and burn from it instead. It's so much easier. |
