MY CDI HAS A USELESS AUDIO SESSION TO IT!??????

Ok i opend my cdi using CDMAGE and saw that my first session was an audio track only 9 sec. long?!.... is that suppose to be there?..... when i try to burn the cdi it only ends up burning that audio track.....and spits it out... with a useless 9sec(dead silence) track!
please help me out! thank you!

It's supposed to be there. If you want the image to work on your pre-Oct2000 unit, it must stay there.

If you have a Post-0ct2000 unit, it requires a different configuration, and BIN2BOOT /NOHACK will reportedly convert a .BIN or .ISO to a usable .CDI file.

ok... when i try to burn it, it ends up just burning the first session the 9sec. audio after that it spits out the cd?!???? why is that?!

Perhaps Disc Juggler is misconfigured or your burner may be incapable of burning multisession discs using Disc Juggler.

With your CDR with the audio track burnt to it iserted into your burner, try typing 'CDRECORD - DEV=#,#,# -msinfo' at the dos prompt. (Where #,#,# is device address of writer).

If it is a number other than 11700 or 11702 then the audio track is too long, and your 1st_read.bin will have the wrong boot address. If it is any of the above numbers then it is more than likely to be your system setup.

To add to what MADFORIT stated:

*IF* you have CDRECORD on your computer, first type this from a DOS prompt:

CDRECORD -scanbus

It will show you a list of drives on the IDE and SCSI ports. Find your CD-R drive and remember the number listed (such as 0,1,0).

Now you type CDRECORD -DEV=0,1,0 -msinfo

(Use whatever device number is displayed by scanbus in place of the 0,1,0 above.)

If you do see 11700 or 11702, you can collect a couple more programs (CDMAGE to extract the .CDI file, mkisofs.exe to make an ISO file, BINHACK.exe and IPINS.exe to insert the modified IP.BIN into the ISO). Once you have these programs and the Echelon self-boot tutorial, just follow the steps *AFTER* the write of the Audio file and build the ISO and write it to the disc. Of course if your disc has been finalized, you won't be able to do this on the disc you're currently looking at, but it's so easy to just write to a new CD-R disc ####ting from the beginning of the tutorial.
