Iwould like to know if i can run a vcd on my dc by using a Utopia 1.1 bootdisc

No, the Utopia Boot-Disc is NOT a VCD player.

You will need to do a search of DC CopyWorld button at the top of the page to find the VCD player (don't know right offhand what the URL is) and download it.
