Create CD on DVD media?
I have a few CD-Rs and a whole bunch of DVD-Rs. Can I burn a music CD on a DVD-R that will work like a CD in any CD players. Or can I only use a CD-R?

I have used K3b on Linux and I have burned Linux Live Cds ISOS on DVD and have had any problem reading'em on DVD or booting them on instead of CD..Long ago If I did the same on Nero didnt let me do the same as K3b but I dont know if Nero is still that way I havent used it in long years..But as Joe Foster already stated even if you could burn on dvd it wont play on car stereo or hifi system for sure..And it's not like DVDs were popular for audio only format either..

Just to add to what's already been said: no, this won't work. A standard CD player can't read DVD media at all, since DVDs use a shorter-wavelength laser and denser data tracks than CD players are built to read. Audio CDs also use a completely different data format (Red Book) than DVDs. If you want discs that play in regular CD players, car stereos, and hi-fi systems, you'll need to use your CD-Rs. Save the DVD-Rs for data backups or video.
