LZX Precompressor (Side project)
1 Attachment(s)
Hi guys. First of, I should have called this ziprec and that it deals with xcompress streams, I have zero knowledge when it comes to the difference between lzx and xmemcompress so I just called it lzxrec.
This tool currently only works for zip files compressed with this method, which is why I did mention that I should have called it ziprec but I do have plans for this in future so it ends up supporting for stuff other than zip files. As for the games that this would currently work on, well for now Forza Motorsport 7. Other titles that use the same algorithm will be supported, I was working on Project CARS which also uses this method and it looks promising :) Anyways, enough about that. Here's part of results for that ridiculously large game. Forza Motorsport 7\AppFiles\media\pcfamily\cars: Code:
Compressed 987 files, 12,965,446,345 => 29,281,263,518 bytes. Ratio 225.84% |
Thanks. Seems you got some free space finally :D
I don't have any games that I know of which use this algorithm. Keep it up bro |
Had to sacrifice my porn folder :D

We owe you a Lot! :) Keep it Up Brother.. /// Can't wait to see new Xtool... If it's possible..., someday.... Somehow please combine all your side project to xtool. It will be cool.. |

He will release it soon... I request it :) |
If you decide to compress FM7, be advised that installation will be around 8-9 hours on 4-threads CPU. It's not Razor's fault, it's the slow lzx algo itself.

LZX algo is used as build in by Windows, its designed to be used as read - format.
in other words the actual executable doesnt have to unpack data to actually read them. for a format doesnt even need to be unpacked to be read dont expect much :D |
