Error while compressing .bk2

Hello everyone:)

i was just playing with compression and found this error while compressing .bk2 files from injustice gods among ultimate edition.

Error:"MotionData_Warn"
Any idea about this error while compressing 4.56 GB of .bk2 files

and also tell me the best settings to compress the game

most of the files are .xxx and are detected as lzo by GFS but can't be compressed with uelr it skips all of them, used srep+lzma but the compression is not good its very bad

its a known bug in bpk.
the dev knows about it ,but too lazy to fix. :)

Is this even a unreal engine game? I don't have the game that's why i ask. If not, then uelr is useless.

Yes it is, .xxx, .umap, .upk, .tfc are an easy indicators of Unreal Engine 3 game.

More like, he doesn't really care. He has other high priority stuffs to do in his life. Also this tool was originally made for BINK 1 so there's more support to BINK 1 videos than BINK 2.

There's nothing you can do, add -i2 switch to the Arc command and see where the compression stops (at which file), once you know it, just remove that file from BPK compression and compress the rest. You have to keep removing the bink videos that throws error until you are left with the ones that BPK can process.

AC unity only has like 1 GB of bink videos, out of which skill videos aren't even that much so I don't really see a point in being that frustrated. Plus they are Bink 2 videos so benefit is going to be even much lesser

That error is for one of this:

a) The video frame is too small, something like 60x30 or something like that
b) The video has a transparency channel /alpha plane

How to detect:

Install the bink and smacker tools, open it, browse to the videos folder
click on one of the videos (just one click), click on the file-info button
check for the frame size and alpha-plane.

If you have a game with some videos like that, check each one and compress only
the ones that dont have alpha-plane and small frame sizes, the rest, leave them untouched.
The last case i remember was COD Infinite warfare

One more thing, compress with the cls and decompress with the cls, or compress with
the exe and decompress with the exe, don mix both ways (like compressing with exe and decompressing with cls on inno stup)

It works.

good luck

read my comment and try what i posted, videos with small frame size or alpha plane
trhow the "MotionData_Warn" error you have.

Use bink tools to isolate the problematic videos and process the rest (unless all the videos
have alpha plane, if that's the case there is nothing you can do.
