im not trying to be a smart ass, i was infering that peter's launcher may have been for this topic only. He updated the pictures to show 3 different games. Originally it was crysis2 only images.
But he's straightened that out, that it will work for any/all EA games will have to keep it handy. I have spent hours reading thru help forums for inno, just trying to figure out how peter's conversions work the way they do. Rather then just accept it and move onto the next game. The only way to learn, ask questions, & even if I answer, and again im proven wrong by someone who knows far more then i do about these conversions work. Im still learning and hope that peter still continues to post, as they work flawlessly. |

Thanks for help :D |
yes BEFORE making your ISO's goto the localized folder and make a fake file with the name it says it cant find. ( make a empty text file, then rename it to what you need it to be ) You may need to do that with more then 1 of the language paks, so dont burn the ISO's until you test the install/uninstall without errors
|
very simple
DVD1=> Disc1 DVD2 => Disc2 Do not use any other name ok  'Create 2 folders and name them as Disc1 and Disc2 Burn or make iso's with same label names of temp folders' |

EDIT by Grumpy: There is NO need to Quote the WHOLE original post! Just the Title of the post will do. |
Does anyone on the forum is capable and will do the conversion: Crysis 2 with integrated "Crysis 2 High-Res Texture Pack" and "DirectX 11 Crysis 2 Upgrade Pack" and the v1.9 patch required to run these two packages. The patch will be released next week. Of course 2xDVD5 or even 1xDVD5 MULTI5 [FreeArc + jpg compression, etc]?

Few questions:
1. Can i put for example no intro fix on DVD2? May it cause some problems? Is it OK? 2. In autorun.inf there are these lines: Code:
Name=Crysis 2 3. Is it right, that a have to replace "EASetup.exe" on DVD1 with the one from this post to work correctly? http://www.fileforums.com/showpost.p...0&postcount=92 Sorry for my english :o |
The file 'Thumbs.db' is a hidden file and I could only unhide it if I uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"..Same goes to the other language folders.
Anyway I also wonder why is it that when I use DVD9 to install the game the error never comes up even if 'Thumbs.db' file is still hidden. |
Once again I solved my own problem!!
I was using ImgBurn to create disc images, and I figured out that ImgBurn doesn't include hidden files in creating images! So when I used UltraISO, the error doesn't come up anymore and I was able to have a clean install/uninstall and finally burned them to the dvd..thanks anyways pakrat for your help.hehe! |
Works perfect with win7 x64,thanks~~~
I also let it down``` |
how to use that custom EA ? =,= cant install the CRYSIS2 when i click it .....

Followed guide as best as can, but some initial issues with Disc2 size( 5.47GB ) Disc1 - Folders Autorun - 215KB bin32 ( with Eacore subfolder ) - 23 files - 108MB Directx - 27.3MB gamecrysis2 - _fastload subfolder - 14.8MB - _LevelCache subfolder - 120MB - Levels ( 22 subfolders ) - 251MB - modes subfolder - 7.39MB - FILES: Animations.pak 81.2MB Music.pak 427MB Objects.pak 1.62GB ObjectsLS.pak 640MB Scripts.pak 1.26MB Sounds.pak 529MB Textures.pak 461MB Gamedata.cab 30.9MB Redistributable folder 31.6MB Support folder ( 3 subfolders ) - 7 files - 26.2MB ROOT Disc1 - 6 files - 55.7MB DISC2 Folders bin32 folder - 4 files - 10.8MB gamecrysis2 folder - Levels subfolder (DowntownDX11_Benchmark) 7.18MB - Localized subfolder 319MB ( was 1.5GB all languages + English French German Spanish Turkish pak files, DELETED ALL OTHER except Eng) - once deleted now 319MB and DVD is 4.2GB missed in step10 videos.pak file 1.66GB Mods folder - empty patch folder - 2.2GB Support folder - 4.16KB ROOT DISC2 - 4 files 1.25MB Once fixed the files that were copied from step #10 that didnt need to be there BOTH DVD's now correct, will make ISO's & test installer tomorrow then report back  |
corrected Localized folder now in conversion. As for step 3 and 9 I had to repeat that for consistency so no one will forget and to sum all the steps of DVD2 together
PS:tested on fresh installation of Windows 7 x64 that didn't have Crysis 2 installed before |
Corrections Needed:
7- in game install folder, folder gamecrysis2, rename the file "GameData.pak" to "gamecrysis2GameData_pak" and then compress it to a cab archive named "GameData.cab" with compression MSZIP and move it to folder CRYSIS_UPDATED\Disc1\gamecrysis2\ GameData.pak NEEDS to be in ROOT of Disc1, not in gamecrysis2 folder 10-copy from game install folder to CRYSIS_UPDATED\Disc2\gamecrysis2\Levels\ the folder "DowntownDX11_Benchmark" and copy folder "Localized" after deleting all languages other than English from it >>> You need the other language pak files there but make an empty txt file & rename it to the language pak your replacing. ( Setup expects those files there even if empty ) Installed perfectly with the corrections ive mentioned above to the conversion on page 4 Good job bud ;) |
corrections done, thanks pakrat. but i doubt that this will work for any language other than English because I modified only one transform and the msi detects teh system locale and tries to apply corresponding transform so i don't think this is for windows systems other than English. but we will wait and see. thanks for the corrections again :D
|
ooops... forgot about those mst files, and looking thru the en-us.mst file waaay too many changes to do for all the other languages ... again nice job took some work for sure :)
|
if you're only wanting to keep one language, using the first conversion on page 1 will work. Rip out the .pak files for unneeded langs, and then add the 3 big patches/crack to dvd2
http://i56.tinypic.com/js0ldj.jpg EDIT: I also removed the gdfbinary dll's for unneeded langs (these files are registrations for windows games explorer) |
Hi could someone give me advice, i have tried to follow this the best i can and end up with a bigger file than the the 1 posted on the 1st page im always about 700mb out of the 4.7gb space on the dvd. I'm confused as some of the steps are not as simple to me.

Hi there, apologies for that, it's
CRYSIS 2 DVD9 to 2xDVD5 Multi5: (EN/CZ/IT/PL/RU) Install Sequence: DVD1-DVD2-DVD1 All this is new to me as of today. Are these conversions from the original dvd9 cd or can they be made from downloaded copies? |
we dont discuss warez here, if you mean digital download, doesnt matter as long as the version you have matches the game conversion. either from retail dvd9 or digital dvd9 the conversion will work.
|
Well, turns out my little conversion via removing the lang .pak's and adding the hi-res texture pack doesn't really work for space reasons. So what I'm trying to do is move Objects.pak, ObjectsLS.pak, and Animations.pak (inside the gamecrysis2 folder) over to dvd2, and then put the updates/hires textures/cracks/etc on DVD1.
Editing autorun.dat has been a nightmare though, I've never had so much headache getting 3 files moved over to install as part of the second disc, keeping the install sequence as dvd1-dvd2. Senseman, if you're still reading this topic, would you mind giving me a quick tutorial, since you are the crysis 2 .dat master? |

@PakRat
I would, except for two things: 1. I would like to keep everything in it's pre-installed state to avoid any possible errors in the future w/ adding new mods/patches/etc 2. I would like to know exactly what to do w/ the autorun.dat file in order to be able to do this myself in the future & even help others on the forum w/ similar issues. I've gotten a start on looking at Senseman's autorun.dat and thought I figured out what he was doing, but whenever I try to imitate it on those selected three files I return the 'error applying transforms' msg :( So I must be doing something wrong, and I would most appreciate it if Senseman could point me right. Thanks! |

When I change in file "localization.ini": [LOCALES] en-us=1 to [LOCALES] en-us=1 pl=1 then it does not work at all installation. "GDFBinary.pl.dll" filen won't install too... |

Unfortunately napalmguy's conversion is for english only! you'll have to follow the conversion listed on page 1 for the version you have. IF there is a link within the posting like: Code:
http://www.fileforums.com/showpost.php?p=393320&postcount=92 |
The conversion on the first page does not work with an integrated 1.9 and HiResTexture update pack like napalmguy's conversion.
I need "autorun.dat" file support Polish language files like GDFBinary.pl.dll. |
it wont auto install those.. but you CAN remove the un-needed pak files for lang you dont want ( gamecrysis2\localised folder ) the folder itself IF LE edition is 3.57GB with all languages.. just make a zero-byte file with the same name as the deleted languages.
IE: delete English.pak ( 319MB ) right-click new text document & rename it to English.pak file is now 0 bytes. Delete czech.pak ( 327MB) right-click new text document & rename it to czech.pak REMEMBER to name them exactly.. some have uppercase letters, some dont. THEN ADD the patch 1.9 , DirectX 11 update and Hi-Res texture pack to DISK2.. more then enough room, but you will have to install them manually after installing base game. |
Hi!
Can somebody help me about the conversion? I edit the autorun.dat file but i dont know wich number in media section belongs to each file. It shows that 90 belongs to engine.cab, and it shows 562->gamedata.cab and 575->root.cab. My question is wich number belongs to animations.pak, music.pak and objects.pak? |
At least your trying to use orca & do it yourself, just use the already converted autorun.dat for your version as a guide. ( you'll see whats changed between your autrorun.dat & the edited one. Just as a precaution, rename your autorun.dat to mine.dat, it gets confusing when switching between to files named the same)
