GTX 590

Thank you, I managed to convert the result was 10 DVD9.

just I found it a bit strange because DVD5 are 9 discs.

good bad work worth it in my machine is not running ... aaafff

i7 3740m
gtx660m
8gb ram corsair

GTX590 08-08-2016 19:17

With update 1 =2 Gb
and update 2=12 Gb
My game final size is 62 Gb
With DVD5 should end up with something like 10 or 11xDVD5.
With DVD9 Should be the half number of discs.
That means 5xDVD9!!
Will test later!!!

Good morning, gtx590,
is attached the size of my game folder.

We do NOT support Warez, so next time READ THE RULES instead of just clicking Continue. > pakrat2k2

ghoprogramas 10-08-2016 14:07

I will do it again, because the conversion formatted my system here.
Let's see the result tomorrow put the result.

Thanks for listening.

Good Morning !

GTX590 follows my log ultraARC:

I put in all languages

DOOM_1 to 9 = 6.83 * GB (DVD9)
DOOM_10 = 898mb (With redist)

I find it very odd bad result all right.

Another thing I'm using windows 10 is latest version that came out last week and noticed the ultraARC takes a while to move from one cab to another, he comes to stop responding this is normal or is it because of my HD be slow ?? ?

Thank you for your support !!!

Forgot marks these options srep+lzma, aff will novamene making process.

mausschieber 12-08-2016 08:45

IF using DVD9 then ( Edit UltraARC.ini):
First Volume size = 7870
Custom Volume Size = 7950
Threshold Percent = 30

First Volumesize depending on the size of setup.exe
Custom Volume Size = 7950 is the maximum of DVD9

GTX590 12-08-2016 10:36

My better advice for DVD9 or BD is to split files in 1Gb or 2Gb at most!!
The reason is that it's better to have multiple files in one disk and that will prevent many files to be altered from scraches caused to the DISK surface.
I have tested compression with DVD5 sizes and will test with DVD9 later:)

Finally:)

pakrat2k2 07-09-2016 20:39

You could get rid of all extra languages ( keep only 1 language ) save 4.90GB
F:\GAME\DOOM\base\sound\soundbanks\pc Select all other folders EXCEPT the one you want to use.

Did that but still 10 DVD's:(

WaltonSimons 08-09-2016 01:52

Face it, current idtech games are sizey. Very sizey and very UNcompressable.

Also that notice about Steam with valid account is no longer required. ;-)

The_Killer 10-09-2016 09:07

works 100%, Tanks

elbubi 10-09-2016 15:36

Tested and working 100%

BR25 Conversion => Disc 1 23.089Mb / Disc 2 22.954Mb

Nice work, thanks for your time!

After these F------G updates my game crashes:mad:

pakrat2k2 17-12-2016 11:48

It will IF you removed the extra languages before the update, the update needs the extra languages to be there to complete the update properly. Then you can remove them afterwards.

Don't have the game installed yet, is this result with srep+lzma?

pakrat2k2 17-12-2016 12:52

yes, with nothing removed, I know I can remove unneeded languages, but any further updates always seems to look for them
& doesn't update properly if not found.

KaktoR 17-12-2016 15:25

^Thanks. Will try to test something out with precomp and ripping... if precomp let me :D

Razor12911 17-12-2016 15:28

i don't think precomp works on this game, but reflate does.
You can get something like 6-7xdvd5 if you use reflate.

KaktoR 17-12-2016 15:50

^The problem is, CIU doesnt support reflate atm (deflate is already included, but eperimental and need a switch to enable). So i must use what CIU and UA give me :D

Razor12911 17-12-2016 17:16

let's see what razor can do then.

Razor12911 18-12-2016 15:18

Ok, razor did something. You should go check it out.

Many thanks for the reflate update!
UA_2500_18122016_reflate_update.7z in the topic listed above. :cool:

Tested and working 100% on W10x64

BR25 conversion 40% Threshold => Vol1 23.089Mb / Vol2 22.954Mb

Regards and thanks for your time!

Lorentz82 16-05-2017 11:24

Thanks for the conversion, however, after 10 hours of processing and after removing the multiplayer, the editor and almost all languages (except two), I only got release from the weight of 41.5 GB (10xDVD5). It's strange because I found the release on the web from the 30GB weight with all the latest updates. Why is there always this difference?

Original release: 53,5 GB
Conversion: 41,5 GB

9xDVD5 = 4,37
10xDVD5 = 2,17 GB

KaktoR 16-05-2017 11:27

Use pzlib

You can not expect every conversion to be updated every time a newer version of CIU is released. Use the conversion as it is, it works fine.
This applies to all the conversions you have spammed the update message to. ;)
