3. Wait for finish

As always test before burn on DVD!

just figured to include compression within freearc as follows:

arc a -ep1 -r -w.\ -m=rep:1024mb+mm+delta+dispack+4x4:lzma:ultra:50mb -mm [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] -dp"C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision Blizzard\Diablo III" .

In the package, just modify the compress.bat file with the -m0 option with the following:

"-m=rep:1024mb+mm+delta+dispack+4x4:lzma:ultra:50mb -mm"

Just test and report back cab sizes. I think its still 4xdvd5.

yes, I was able to save just 600MB with the argument....still needs 4 x DVD5.

For a 2xDVD9 config, do we need a new build of the installer EXE? If yes, please provide one.

Issue was , I forgot to update Data4/5.lst files with correct language entries.

However, for 2xDVD9 config, we do need a new build of the installer EXE? If yes, please provide one in a separate thread.

Also realised keeping compression option as m6 instead "-m0" , we get a decent compression too viz time to compress.

I will check this. Be patient.

edit: As "thedeamon" says at post #6, with strong compression its still 4xDVD5. Therefore higher compression doesn't make sense ;)

I will build a new exe for DVD9 version and post this in a seperate thread.

Not going to happen. The only way you can get the source is via 'yener', and he no longer visits.
It was a 'Private' release to only a selected few, it was never meant to be public, be happy with what you get from those selected few.
And if you continue to spam the forums asking for it, you will be banned. End of story. ;)

Not that much. If you are interested in, just test with precomp for file "CoreData.mpq". Just in this moment i test it with "Textures.mpq".

Just replace filename in Test.bat and start.

Have to re-organize all lst files. Game size increased to 18,3GB. I'm not sure if it fit on 4xDVD5. Testing around with some compression.

Hi guys. I have bad news. Unfortunately the game does not fit on 4xDVD5 anymore.

What you can do:

or

Wait for Blizzard to patch out unnecessary files out of the game with a future patch (enjoy waiting time...)

or

Experimental: go to {root}\Data_D3\PC\MPQs\Cache\base and delete file "patch-base-26451.MPQ" (3,7GB). Re-done conversion with conversion files from 2.0.6. Install D3 from conversion, open B.net app and click "Scan and repair". I'm not sure if it works.

or

Recomended: If you have already done the conversion for game v2.0.6, use old conversion and patch to latest version after install


As well for DVD9 version it looks not good. At the moment i'm busy with compress several game files with highest Arc compression. Srep is a waste of time, between 97% and 99% compression ratio, not much to say here. Precomp... well, test for yourself.

DVD1: 4,16GB
DVD2: 4,28GB
DVD3: 4,28GB
DVD4: 3,99GB (f*** you patch-base-26451.MPQ)
DVD5: 1,60GB

Hey

since the game has become an update, i've prepared a patch for the Setup which contains the following changes

Download the file "Diablo3-setup-patch-110-dvd5-xdelta.rar" from first post, extract the contents of the file next to Setup.exe and run Patcher.bat.

Also download "v2.2.0.30894a-DVD5.rar" for the new file lists. Any language changes in list files are now obsolete because the game has the same files for every language. If you have a Setup.ini file next to Setup.exe, delete it.

I've also made a other design with Installer Creator by razor12911. If you prefer this one, download "Diablo3-setup-patch-110-design2-dvd5-xdelta.rar", extract the contents of the file next to Setup.exe and run Patcher.bat (only for 106 setup!).

Man, this forum is ONLY for backup purposes.

Man this installer is pretty. I'll likely use it to make a decent backup once the constant patching calms down a bit.
