History

V1.00 - First Release.

1. Install the game, any updates, etc.

2. Go to game's installed folder and move:

AMD Dual Core Optimizer, VCRedist, Directx folders to Redist folder in DVD4. (Which is in conversion)

2A. Go to game's installed folder ( XEW ) and REMOVE:

AMD Dual Core Optimizer, VCRedist, Directx folders.

3. Download the attachment below. Open installerscript.iss with Unicode version of INNO and change the following line according to your game's installed location:

Save it and compile.

4. After compile, move:

-Setup.cab, Setup.exe, Autorun.exe, Setup.ico to DVD1 folder; Do NOT include Setup.ini in DVD1 ISO

-All Setup-1*.bin files to DVD1
-All Setup-2*.bin files to DVD2
-All Setup-3*.bin files to DVD3
-All Setup-4*.bin files to DVD4

5. Burn content to DVDs, and enjoy installer music pack during install.

no, the languages take up next to nothing few hundred MB, not enough to reduce to fewer dvds. Don't forget compilation of BOTH games into one, at ~20G its not going to get much smaller, unless use precomp+srep, but that takes compression / installation time much longer then it is.

i got this error reading from dvd.
but if i play it on hardisk it worked. what could be?

make sure that setup.ini is NOT in DVD1 ISO.

Does not work downloaded and converted 2 times and the same error.

Any setup.ini whether or not the folder or not the error appears.

did you change anything other then the game location, as your the only one so far who has had any error like that.

Also you only compiled Installerscript.iss ?

you ONLY remove setup.ini, AFTER conversion has finished & your going to burn it to ISO. It Has to be in conversion folder when you compile the script, but NOT in DVD 1 ISO.

ah I forgot to move the uninstall.exe and uninstall.dat before doing the conversion. whether it will be fine ? whether any conversion of the game must move first before do enough uninstall.exe and uninstall.dat.?

the uninstall.* files are from original installer & wont allow you to uninstall from conversion if left in. Same for any conversion you must move them before starting conversion.

error has noting to do with conversion, game related.
just change the desktop shortcut to XComEW.exe file, rather then your non-working
xcomlauncher.exe

How use compiler as only used compress.bat and ultra arc for convo's ???

I have a problem: no matter what button I press in the installer it just starts installing the game on C: without letting me choose another HDD

1. You completed the conversion & uninstalled the original version.
2. Run the installer & choose install, on next screen, THEN choose CUSTOM install, NOT default install, there you can choose where to install game to.

I tried doing that, but no success.
If I click default installation it starts installing the game.
If I click custom installation it starts installing the game.
If I turn the music off, when I click back it starts installing the game.

Now i tried the Dead Island GOTY conversion, and the same happens.:confused:

these are conversions for games you have. you must have the game already installed in your OS before trying to use these game conversions.
we are NOT a warez site to d/l the games.

I already have the game, wich is necesary to make this conversion.
I'm not asking for a download link.

I was only asking for help with that problem. Other than that the conversion installs and runs fine. Thanks for your work.

just double checking, we've had users before that were thinking it was the game itself.

followed step #3 in first post ?

You have Unicode version of inno installed, edited that line to where you have the game installed.
