INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Install Batman Arkham Origins, apply all possible patches up to v20131204 (tested).

Tip:

If you made this conversion before releasing unofficial patch 2 (~270MB) and want to use it... you can't :D

Please download my version of patch 2 instead (BTW it's 3 times smaller).

It's important to apply update v20131106 with no-cd before applying this one 

After that you have game updated to v20131125



Of course all official patches works great with this conversion

2. Download BAO_2xDVD5_or_3xDVD5.rar and extract it to any {TEMP} (NOT in {game_folder}). Be sure to have at least 13GB of free space on the drive.
Note: See Post #87 for file.

FIX: Download data3_preprocess_PROPER.rar and extract to {TEMP}\files to avoid missing files in some cases. Thx for The-revenge for informing about that.

3. Go to {TEMP}, run compress (SP only).bat or compress (SP + MP).bat:
- choose your game folder,
- choose preferred language for audio (ingame & cutscenes),
- choose to shut down your PC after conversion or not (yes, you can go sleep now :D )

4. Make iso/burn content of BAO_# folders with any label

13.02.2014: uploaded BAO_2xDVD5_or_3xDVD5_v2.rar (after 931 downloads) with resized buttons to avoid text cutting in Italian (thx tanatos for info)

how to do this with no compression, thx

1. Change method parameters in bat file to 0 for all archives.
2. Rearrange files in lst files.
3. Delete data3_preprocess.bat

I'm getting an error when compiling data2.cab. Cannot find these 3 files:

NewGotham_C4_Audio.upk
NewGotham_C4_FX.upk
NewGotham_C4_Static.upk

I have an original and it works 100% and always installs this way.

These are files added in update 3

A big update is out from Steam. 3.1GB. Only for bug fixes :eek:
Over 8.5GB of game files(~5GB SP/~3GB MP) said.

Ok i've updated my game and retested the conversion, but i've noticed that the following folder increases in size from 8gb to 11gb. Is this normal.

D:\Batman Arkham Origins\SinglePlayer\BMGame\CookedPCConsole

Almost every file in this folder gets modified. The game does start and plays, just wanted to know if anyone else picked up on this.

Fox22743 yes it's normal and necessary to fit the game on 2 DVDs

Just to confirm:

1) My folder from original installation with all updates = 8gb.
2) After compression but before uninstalling original game, almost all files change in size, folder now = 11gb.
3) Installation with your version is exactly the same as #2 above (i.e. 11gb)

Did you somehow decompress original game files, so that you could recompress in your conversion?

I'll post some pics later just to show you what i mean.

EDIT:
Ok i just read through your .bat & .lst files, and i saw that you do decompress all those files and then repack. It's funny how the game still works with the file sizes changed. On older games it used to give a filesize mismatch error if anything changed.

Well great work as always BAMsE, wish i had even half your talent. I want to do a conversion on GTA IV + Episodes from Liberty City and try to bring it down to 4 dvd's total, and not each.
I know if i knew how to use precomp like peter and how to compress like you, then it would be possible.

Tested with patch 2 (3,1GB) and works.
However there is an unofficial (lightest) version of this patch on the web done with vpatch.
It's impossible to apply such unofficial patches after conversion - please do it before or use official one.

Cr*p, I just deleted original files yesterday! =P.

No matter, will play/burn it without this patch, don feel like downloading the whole thing again.

You can still patch with original one, then repack if you want =)

Use FTS update (Update 20131125). FTS update use XDelta patch, reduce the size to 250MB instead 3GB.
Works with MP or SP only. ;) You just need instaled Update 20131114 FTS (Included all updates before the last).

Go in pause menu and select Restart from Checkpoint.
If Restart from checkpoint didn’t work, trying beating up all enemies around you.
If there aren’t any enemies around you, try going through a door.
Those steps should get you back into the game.

Batman Arkham Origins Update 2 Hotfix changelog:

- Fix Black Mask side quest not being able to complete
- Fixes the savegames where the player cannot select ‘continue’ (only new). It also fixes the bug where the user is stuck in the Anarky Bomb mission, but cannot continue because the world isn’t properly loaded around them.

No, no, no my friend.
You can't use any differential patcher with this conversion.
Those type of patchers compare two files - before and after updating and writing differences only..
This conversion uses uncompressed upk files while original game uses compressed one.
This xdelta patch was done by comparing with compressed files.

It's sad that developers haven't enough desire to prepare differential patches.
I decide to use uncompressed files because nobody uses this method of patching anymore

I know, but I'm here for providing you conversions not latest patches. In case of update 2 (v20131107 - v20131125 cumulative) my intension was to shrink its size and making it possible to put it on 2nd DVD. Unfortunately differential patch you can find on net is incompatible with this conversion, so I must done my own. As I said you MUST update to v20131106 and NOTHING ELSE before applying my one. After that you have your game patched to v20131125, so you can apply next one (v20131204).

Of course all official updates works great with this conversion.

Have you intension to integrate the latest patch in this conversion?

v20131204 is only few MB, with no new files, so you can apply it and this conversion will still work.
