1) Install the game

2) Extract 'DS3_1xDVD5.7z' contents (not in game folder)

* 3) Extract 'DS3_2xDVD5.7z' to the same location of 'DS3_1xDVD5.7z' and then overwrite the contents

4) Launch Compress.bat & wait...

* 5) Move 'Data4.bin' archive to 2nd disk

6) Burn or make iso with label name of your choice

* Steps for 2x DVD5 only

The conversion is for users who have Windows in English or for languages ​​that do not have an audio support in the game.:(

but not for

excellent compression, I wondered if not too much trouble and could give me the files needed for decompression and would like to use it in another installer but with the files I have branded me wrong because I do not support that type of decompression, thanks

Take a look at ISDone_Example.iss, a basic knowledge of the pascal language is required.

to keep full (audio) italian language (multi2) modify data1.lst as followsnot dvd5 anymore but anyway...better than 2 dvd5

choose different conversion, or wait & see if peter changes installer to play video.
his is closed source, meaning you cant just add video, setup has to be remade, unlike yener's scripts which allows both ( but only plays video once then shows images )

the final size is 4.25 GB :D
but bin files does not contain bigfile6.viv file

Thanks for this useful data Peter. So I guess english speech sounds are merged in another .viv file, pity since I wanted to rename it in order to play with english speech + spanish subs. Beeing latinamerican, spain spanish is awful to the ear (the other way around too).

is a chance for gta 4 2xdvd5 with srep and freearc ???

srep and freearc are not enough, precomp is also required.

Tested and working flawlessly under w7x64 spanish.

How do you know that first 5 viv files are for English language only.

And that these files are for other languages:
bigfile6.viv -> German speech sounds
bigfile7.viv -> Spanish speech sounds
bigfile8.viv -> French speech sounds
bigfile9.viv -> Italian speech sounds

How did you CHECKED that, if you didn't checked it where did you find that information.

Will 1xDVD5 method work with English Only + DLC? Does compress.bat needs an update or it won't work?

It will never fit on 1x DVD5 with DLC Awakened (1.33 gb) :(

Use 2x DVD5 conversion do the following after step 3:

Edit Compress.bat (row 32):
Edit Data4.lst:

I get a error mesage when trying to install, saying it's a invalid srep compression

make sure you uninstalled original version, before trying to reinstall from conversion. also make sure that your uninstall files were not in gamefolder when you created conversion.
