great job!
can you add diffrent eula for each language please?

REV0 01-12-2012 02:40

Possible, it'll take time though, i'm busy with other conversions

Cheers

alchemist83 15-12-2012 05:58

Compile error, can not find file...

2. Move directx, vc folders and physx setups from game's folder to DVD4/Redist folder in conversion.

Is best to copy these folders rather than move them as I compiled, took 1hr 30m , got to end and displayed error, couldnt find a directx file - because i had moved it as per instructions part 2. So had to start again!

Thanks though, looking good on - in process...

Technically you can have directx not found error in INNO. If there's no redist, INNO will skip to install them.

thanks mate http://www.swngz.com/images/smilies/...sv5/KnkyAb.gif Tested and working Win7 x64 on English

Further compresssion

With all DLC's and latest update I'm getting a 6 disk result. Can I increase the compression in INNO script to get 4 disks? Currently its a full disk (5) and 591mb (6) over, which is alot and Im doubtful that more compression can be applied...?

Thanks :)

WaltonSimons 09-03-2013 23:05

lzma2/ultra64 will get you a 4-DVD result, but only after you edit DLCs' sfar files. Basically, you want to remove all voices except English from them. Meaning, when you edit a sfar, mark the following for deletion:

- to delete French voices: *FRA.afc and *FRA.pcc.
- to delete Italian voices: *ITA.afc and *ITA.pcc
- to delete German voices: *DEU.afc and *DEU.pcc

You may also remove these from your main Mass Effect 3 content, but that doesn't require editing SFARs. What you definitely must edit is From Ashes, Leviathan, Omega and Citadel. What you must NOT edit is the Multiplayer DLCs as they get verified online!

did you remove all extra languages except the one you want from Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\CookedPCConsole folder too ?

Same for german conversion.

Go to GameDir\BIOGame\CookedPCConsole and delete all other languages you don't want except the *.tlk files! Otherwise you get crypted fonts InGame!

WaltonSimons 10-03-2013 06:15

People, base ME3 content trimming is NOT ENOUGH! I can't stress this enough: grab ME3 DLC Explorer and edit .sfar's for Extended Cut, From Ashes, Leviathan, Omega and Citadel! It will trim their sizes by half, resulting in much smaller size of the game overall!

EDIT: Apologies for leaving Extended Cut out of that list.

Theodor 10-03-2013 11:31

Since I have already burned my previous Mass Effect 3 conversion with all the dlcs released before Citadel dlc.Can someone create a separate conversion for the citadel dlc so that it fits in a dvd5.

V2.20:

After 448th download
- Updated game size values
- Updated redist value
- Updated GDF Binary values
- Added 5th DVD folder

Now compatible with latest Citadel DLC, however it's 5DVD5 instead 4.

WaltonSimons 15-03-2013 11:39

It's not, if you decrease DLCs' sizes. ;) It's still 4 DVD then!

It is, because i didnt mention any DLC editing which i find useless and most of the users of fileforums wont comprehend how to do it.

Thanks

You should've said it sooner, I'll prepare a tutorial! ;)

pakrat2k2 16-03-2013 09:57

thanks will wait for guide, then can finally get the complete version off my HD ;)

WaltonSimons 16-03-2013 12:53

Guide done. I posted it separately because it can help with every conversion, not just this one.

Hmm, I went ahead and deleted all foreign languages in DLC but size is still 5DVDs.

pakrat2k2 16-03-2013 20:22

read post #9 too

I did, still around 1GB oversized, trying lzma2/ultra64 compression now.

zyo 17-03-2013 01:26

I have to remove all the MP DLCs to achieve 4DVDs

WaltonSimons 17-03-2013 18:02

You need to remove the foreign languages from the base content too, not just DLCs.

Same key as in the guide, meaning: _FRA/_ITA/_DEU.afc/pcc in CookedPCConsole.

Do I need to to delete _ITA.afc/pcc files in the CookedPCConsole that came with the Citadel dlc too ?

pakrat2k2 23-03-2013 22:38

simply yes.. depending on how many languages you want to keep ingame. delete same ones in CookedPCConsole + DLC. follow guide > http://fileforums.com/showthread.php...465#post415465

NTurky 23-07-2013 18:30

Thanks for another excellent conversion, REV0

As with Mass Effect 2, there is one key of the registry section of the script that is not written, because it checks for Component3FAE

Code:

Root: HKLM; SubKey: "SOFTWARE\BioWare\Mass Effect 3"; ValueName: Locale; ValueData: en_US; ValueType: string; Flags: uninsdeletevalue uninsdeletekeyifempty; Check: Component3FAE

REV0 26-07-2013 09:50

- V2.20 - After 470th download
- Updated one single regkey

kokousic 18-10-2013 00:41

4-dvd possible without removing anything. 8GB RAM required.
Compression=LZMA2/ULTRA64
LZMAUseSeparateProcess=yes
LZMANumBlockThreads=2
LZMADictionarySize=262144
LZMABlockSize=262144

Change Disc Slice to 1546188226

WaltonSimons 20-10-2013 14:47

@kokousic

I'm sorry, but that's bull. A conversion that'd require more RAM than the game itself to make? Why don't we use KGB archiver and fit it on a 1.44 MB floppy disk while we're at it? :P LOL

My point is that compression settings should take into account that the hardware we own is meant to satisfy the game's needs, not e.g. 3DS Max's or something :P

gatosky1620 13-06-2014 16:45
