WHY U NO DVD5 ?

From current look, you technically can't separate multiplayer and singleplayer files.

The most important size of folders is 16 gb of 'pc' folder and it was created as 'levels' not separated as single or multi content. Sorry guys.

-Regkey about install directory has been fixed.


1. Install the game.

2. Download the attachment below. Open it with Unicode Version of INNO Setup Edit Game's Path according to your game's installed location:

3. Click 'Compile' and order a pizza and drink your beer.

4. Create 6 folders and name them as: MP3_1, MP3_2, MP3_3, MP3_4, MP3_5, MP3_6

5. Move:

Setup1*.bin files, Setup.exe, Setup.ico, Setup.cab, Setup.ini, autorun.inf, Setup.dll to MP3_1
Setup2*.bin files, Setup.ico to MP3_2
Setup3*.bin files, Setup.ico to MP3_3
Setup4*.bin files, Setup.ico to MP3_4
Setup5*.bin files, Setup.ico to MP3_5
Setup6*.bin files, Setup.ico to MP3_6

6. Copy:

Redistributables folder which is located in DVD1 of Max Payne 3 to MP3_6
autorun.inf to MP3_2, MP3_3, MP3_4,MP4_5,MP_6

7. Edit all autorun.inf files except MP3_1 like below:

Conversion is 6DVDs because of it, i strongly recommend to install game with compiled bin files, then burn them to DVDs.

If you want to use DVD9s instead DVD5s, use values below:

if the conversion went to 6xDVD5's, then why end at MP3_4 folder in instructions ? Missing couple of folders, or does it only 4xdvd5 ???

you can download iscabview.exe and a bunch of other required dll files.

I just downloaded a working iscabview.exe extracted from the latest installshield evaluation version.

Isn't this enough to repack the cab files?

WTF are you doing with iscabview.exe?:confused:

You need Iscab.exe for game repacking, but Iscab is no longer available from the 2010 version, however iscab v15 still working with that version, unfortunately from version 17 (2011), iscab v15 no longer works because it has been added unicode support.

Max Payne 3 uses v.18.0.329 (2012) of Installshield engine, and so the solution is a custom installer.

If you re-code them or lower quality it can save you from 3-4 GB, which means 1 DVD5.

Even if you lower quality by %75 which is bad, you have to use 5DVD5 becuse you will have approx. 1.6 GB content from DVD6 anyway.

PC folder is precompresable , arc > pcf > srep > arc can make it smaller , 4.8gb become 1.9gb

Setup has been fixed to V101 version.

And since you're not paying people to create conversion, stop requesting everything. I've spent hours to the theme and testing, and only thing you're saying is requesting something else.

DVD5 is 4.35GB and DVD9 is 7.95 GB so this will not work correctly for me

It HAS REGISTRY KEYS because of it recommend you to TEST before wasting your 6 DVDs. If you have lots of 'em, burn the darn thing.

got error when running compiler using v01 "line 78: Source "N:\MAX_PAYNE3_V101\Include\packjpg_dll.dll" does no exist"

why?

disable antivirus software and then extract the files follow conversion.
after conversion finished, activate antivirus software again

open up inno click help search diskslice... its all there :)

To optimally fill 8.5 GB (dual-layer) recordable DVDs, use:

6dvds? wow. Hopefully someone can shrink this monster a bit down.

the movies are only 8GB, maybe reencode down to couple GB. But what about the other 20GB, going to take some work to get it shrunk down for sure.

OMG? its very strong compression=lzma2/ultra64 it takes 3:20 hours to compile the files and 1:30 hours to install the game.

resampling the biks:

and set compression=none
it takes 27 minutes compile and installing the game. :p :p

I set compression= none and speed 7x MB/s with 7 minutes, but it's 7 DVD, and when install will takes 30 minutes (on DVD) :D

Dude, i did the same thing set compression to none and it comes to 7 DVD but when i try to run setup.exe i have an error Runtime Error (at329:431): Could not call proc.

Error with shorcut on Desktop (used WinXP SP3). Because game used 'PlayMaxPayne3.exe' to start, not used 'MaxPayne3.exe'. Please tel me how to fix in InstallerScript.iss !!!
