Working prefectly in Win 7 32bit

d00m3d 02-12-2011 10:29

It works nice, thanks, but can't it be compressed more/differently so that the patch can fit as well?

I'm not interested in eg lowering the quality of the videos, but using precomp + srep, etc.

silverdoe 02-12-2011 10:47

-mx -ld400, -ld800 or -ld1600?

BAMsE 02-12-2011 13:44

silverdoe I used -ld800

d00m3d the game isn't "precompable" but this conversion still update itself via AssassinCreedLauncher.exe. You can also try to apply the patch and them make whole conversion. If it'll suit DVD5 I'll post fixed setup.dll to correctly register game as 1.01

The-revenge 02-12-2011 13:45

thanks a lot. Your conversion is great and very simply to make.
EDIT : don't work with update?

BAMsE 02-12-2011 14:06

The-revenge it runs correctly if patch is applied on converted and installed game. I don't know it works if you convert patched one and use setup for 1.00

To everybody who decide to convert updated 1.01 version - use attached "setup.dll_for_1.01.rar" instead of "setup.dll" from first post. I don't guarantee the correct behavior of the updater if there are new updates in feature.

The-revenge 03-12-2011 02:49

thank you bamse for the hint, now i try and share my experience for the conversion of patched games.

robysnake91 06-12-2011 08:11

I can not understand, the two files. cab are respectively:
data1 1.43gb
data2 2.98gb

so I can not burn the iso created 4.45gb how can I do?
where I went wrong?
ps:
I deleted the files, leaving only the Italian

maybe the italian files (video i think) are bigger than files of foreign languages.
Check this first.
If the video files are in .bik format, you can compress with RAD tool. Check the exceeded size, and then compress in function of this

can you tell me the size of your two cab files
i've this problem, i can't burn these files, their + the installations files are about 4.45gb

data1.cab 1.43gb
data2.cab 2.98gb

perhaps the problem is my pc, it has a single cpu with only 1 gb of ram

thx to all

thx!!!I had not thought!!

Schabik 06-12-2011 12:44

The Video files are too big so the whole DVD has 4,5gb. In my opinion recompressing the video files that have at least 20mb can do the trick. The profit will be at least 100mb so it can be easly burned on the DVD 4,7GB.

Are you sure it's correct, not the other way about? I think you make some mistakes. Try again. My data1.cab is very similar to your and data2.cab has 1.36GB

Schabik I have polish version too and it fits DVD5.

Maybe you guys try to convert updated game and this is a problem.

There is a fast and easy method to rip unnecessary sound tracks from bicks. I.e. "Previously_On.bik" has 10 of it (2 for background sound + 8 for different languages). Removing 7 of them gives approx. 15MB :)

Schabik 06-12-2011 14:05

BAMsE I'm sure that I've compressed files from original 1.0 version not 1.1 because I did it on my laptop not on the desktop computer that I play on. I've compressed both files (data1.cab and data2.cab) with the -mx -ld800 like you suggested but my files are:
data1.cab 1.5gb
data2.cab 3.0gb
I'm guessing that you hadn't left the sounds_eng.pck, sounds_eng_dlc_03.pck so your package for data2.cab is smaller.
Or there is something that you forgot to tell. Check your conversion:)
after recompressing the videos the profit is about 433mb so if you go lower with the recompression (the worst quality of the videos, believe me you don't wanna do it) you might even add the 1.01 patch.

@robysnake91, my data1.cab is 2,94GB, data2.cab is 1,34GB. If you don't believe me, here is picture:

Thanks to your conversion I have an idea how to do the conversion with original installation. :D I'm gonna do it and test it today:D

It doesn't matter in the game sound will be ok, the voices are added by sounds_eng.pck i think so if you recompress the bik files with RAD Tools and it won't have any effect on the voices only the sound in the video will be in different quality (but it depends on your choice of sound's bitrate, sample rate, audio quality and Audio Codec you use to recompress videos).

I recompress files simply:
1. Convert with RAD Tools from *.bik to *.avi with Xvid Codec.
2. Change with program named Ultra Video Converter the size of the video from 1280x720 to 640x352, and the quality of the video and the sound to "good", frame rate of the converted video is the same as the source video, sample rate set to 44100 Hz, Audio Codec: MP3, Letter Box: Full Image, Aspect Rate: "Auto", Video Codec: "Xvid", Output Format: "Avi Xvid Format (*.avi)".
3. Convert the files recompressed with Ultra Video Converter to *.bik using RAD Tools.
4. That's All

kristy21 after recompressing biks only first track remains and other are deleted. You must extract necessary tracks from original file and put it into converted one. It's simply:

1. For this game tracks 0, 2 and 3 are "environmental" and others are for particular language. Find your one by advanced playing original file:

Attachment 3011

2. Extract tracks 0, 2, 3 and your one to wav format:

Attachment 3012

3. Mix extracted tracks to converted file (remember to mix them on correct ID):

Attachment 3013

Schabik 07-12-2011 07:41

I've compared the converted video and the original video of my own and the only change is the resolution. It has changed from 1280x720 to 640x352 so I don't think that what you BaMSE are saying is necessary.

BAMsE 07-12-2011 09:11

sCHABIK how you want to convert to avi with multiple sound stream??? It's impossible without additional tools.

Quote:

...only for cinematics generated by game's engine, biks have its own sound

kristy21 07-12-2011 09:26

lots of thanks BAMsE..Now I'll start the work..

The-revenge 07-12-2011 09:29

it's possibile to delete foreign languages in the .bik files and leave only one? It's a question i have been for long time, and maybe it's a solution for this problem

BAMsE 07-12-2011 10:09

The-revenge yes, just look at 3rd screen in my previous post. First type "-" (without quotes) instead of browsing external audio file, then point the audio stream ID you want to delete ("Mix into what Bink...") :D

Schabik 07-12-2011 10:15

BAMsE the videos that I've converted are:
ACR_MP_SEQ01_L
ACR_MP_SEQ02_C
ACR_MP_SEQ03_C
ACR_MP_SEQ04_L
ACR_MP_SEQ05_C
ACR_MP_SEQ06_C
ACR_MP_SEQ08_C
ACR_MP_SEQ09_L
ACR_MP_SEQ10_L
flashback_altair
Previously_On
previouslyon_ezio
sp_end_cgi

even when I've converted the biks in Dragon Age 2 where if I remember correctly is an audio track on each video the game worked correctly:) so I'm pretty sure that our both conversions should work

BAMsE 07-12-2011 10:25

Schabik run RAD Tools and check properties ("File info") of the original and converted "Previously_On.bik". How many tracks are there? Or try to "Advanced play" both of them and choose i.e. italian lang (ID 5). Do you see the difference?

Schabik 07-12-2011 23:17

ok you were right:D I've just tested the converted video and there were no english dialogs. I've added the enviromental sounds and english dialogs.

As BAMsE says Tracks 0, 2 and 3 are enviromental and they are responsible for music and sounds of weather or something like that (i didn't check that)

And now which track is for which language:

Track 1 - English
Track 4 - French
Track 5 - Italian
Track 6 - German
Track 7 - Spanish
Track 8 - Japanese
Track 9 - Russian

pakrat2k2 08-12-2011 17:48

thanks Schabik for the language track ID's, comes in handy knowing what trackID you want to keep & discard the rest for a 1 language only install.

Schabik 09-12-2011 00:01

No problem pakrat2k2:)

The-revenge 10-12-2011 11:58

i have a question, after I extract the 3 .wav file, e.g. 2,3 and 5 (0 is the only audio trace of compressed bink, it's right?) what should I do to remixing this 3 audio files with the compressed new bink? I need to remix once at time?
EDIT : I discovered a simply metod to delete the other languages without recompress .bik file. In "mix in sound", in the field "sound file to mix" enter a "-" and the number of track wich you want to delete. But there are 2 problem, the first is the question if work a multiple command of this type (e.g -1 -4 -6 -7 -8 -9) in a single operation, and the second problem is....that don't work for me :D return an error "error opening the audio input file"
EDIT2 : problem solved. For everyone have the same problem, in the field "sound file to mix" must be insert only a "-" and not a "-" + number track (e.g. -5 NO!!!). The number of track to delete must be insert in the filed "mix into what bik track ecc ecc".
Thanks pakrat2k2 to say this, initially I had not understand.

The-revenge 10-12-2011 15:44

After deleted foreign langues from .bik file, the space gained is only 40 mb.
Then I ask you, the folder multi (1,12 gb) is for multiplayer? In case of positive answer, it's possibile to delete it for include update 1.01.

The-revenge I see you're carefully reading all posts, especially these answering YOUR questions. Nothing more to say...

The-revenge 11-12-2011 12:01

sorry Bamse, was a my misurdenstand of correct procedure to delete a language.
Btw, with compression Ultra (ld1600m) , italian version, patch update 1.01 (with bamse's setup 1.01) conversion fit in DVD5 and work great.

anadius 15-12-2011 14:35

Works fine. Win7 32bit SP1. Spoken: English.

@BAMsE
Change this line:
Quote:

5. Go to {game_folder}\videos, delete every FOLDER but one of prefered language
'cause it sounds like leaving the same language as spoken. In fact when you choose, for example, polish lang during installation you don't need folder with spoken lang (in my case - "en").

pakrat2k2 24-12-2011 22:02

no its correct if you read it right.. you delete all languages EXCEPT the one you want to use for the install.

BAMsE 27-01-2012 02:15

First post updated due to 1.02 patch. Have fun :)
