RAGE - (3xDVD9 to 3x or 5xDVD5) *Inno Setup*
 

RAGE - 3xDVD9 to 3 or 5 DVD5 Inno Setup
Must use ANSI Version of INNO, Not Unicode Version

NOTE: 3xDVD5 Does NOT include MP. 5xDVD5 FULL game.
If you Install Update AND do NOT speak Japanese, Polish, Russian. Goto
Base folder & DELETE above 3 mentioned streamed files. Also same in
MP/Base folder.

1. Install the Game + update + NoCD IF you wish

2. Download archives extract to HD ( NOT in game folder )

3. Edit the Rage.iss ( opens with notepad too )

4. CHANGE in line 1 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Rage\" to "YOURGAMEFOLDER LOCATION\" ( " & \ MUST be there!)

5. Save the changes, & run it. ( May take 2 hours to complete, depending on PC / HD speed )

*** SPECIAL NOTE: IF you DONT want MP then MOVE that folder out of RAGE folder. Also MOVE uninst.dat, uninst000.exe from RAGE BEFORE Running ISS FILE

6. Look in Compiled folder for your files.

7. MOVE Setup.exe & Setup-1*.bin to Rage_1 folder, Setup-2*.bin file to Rage_2, Seup-3.bin to Rage_3 folder.

IF you compiled FULL game then also move setup-4*.bin to Rage_4 & Setup-5*.bin to Rage_5 folder.

The installation reply to me some error on different files, may the compiler have done some error? Do someone have the same problem?

both the 3 dvd and 5 dvd work great for setup went smooth and game works fine
i didn't try to play mp online as i only play SP but all the features show up and whatnot for MP and i am running Win 7 32 bit

for those who say they have error, what did you change line 1 in the ISS script too ?

you can see from MY screenshots that the script runs fine & installs the game perfectly.

Dont forget that once you've installed the game from the DVD9, ran the ISS script file, to uninstall the game BEFORE you try to reinstall from DVD5 conversion.

Ok I solve the problem.
If you install:

Original Game -> language pack -> update 1 -> crack
and Compile 3xDVD5 you will have error in the install

so:

Original game -> language pack -> crack
and compile 3xDVD5 there is no error

just click on persons name, small dropbox comes down there you can PM.

As for making a multi2 into multi6, not possible. There will be too many files that may be missing. You have the multi2 + eng files, so replace the files with what language you want, then follow the multi2 conversion.

how can i remove this windows:"Inno Setup script by Pakrat modified verion of Original script by ;Peterf1999 for The Witcher 2"?

that window ONLY comes up IF you click on the ABOUT box, otherwise it doesnt show up.

i did it and compiled is finished. it asked me "test now?". i chose yes. later, UAC window seemed for setup.exe. i chose "No". and it deleted compiled files.

i tried again and i dit it successfully.

I used ansi version.. no issues.. try removing the section where the error is
in the ISS script.

Compiled without error, but setup crashes the moment it starts (tried with and without the update, result is the same). Red Faction Armageddon does the same but there I get to the moment files should start copying and then setup crashes.

EDIT: Tried to run setup on another computer where Rage was never installed, the setup there runs.

it autostarts the install after completing the compile. just exit that install sequence. Uninstall from your dvd9 version, then reinstall from dvd5 conversion.

No no, it doesn't start automatically i started it manually. I've uninstalled the game, checked the registry for strings there is no sign of it but it seems to be somewhere. I have this problem with those 2 games and with peterf's conversion of Call of Juarez The Cartel; after autorun starts there are options: play uninstall etc, and the game is clearly uninstalled and no registry strings. (weird) Something is wrong with my system and I can't figure out what, and that seems to be only with inno installations for some reason :S Any help will be appreciated.
p.s. I cleaned the registry with some registry cleaners but nothing changed.

make sure that your TEMP folder is cleaned out. AND use the tool from this thread to see if anything still lurking behind.

Yes I've read post #7. I've compiled it with ansi, I will try with unicode now but as I remember there was error with it on one section (something like TD something), I'll try and edit post when done.

EDIT: With unicode version there is TGUID error if I remove that section there is another one and there goes in a loop. So my question is can I just pack the content of installed folder into my own installation with some other simple installation maker or there needs to be some registry strings added (or I don't mind even packing it into selfextract rar archives) Question is for both Rage and Red Faction Armageddon. I appreciate all your help, but I'm afraid only solution is to reformat my system, and I wont do that now, too much a hassle at a moment. Thank you very much again. :)

its a 2xdvd9 original game lucky to get it down to 4xdvd5.

got an error on the line:
function SHGetFolderPath(hwndOwner,nFolder,hToken: Integer; dwFlags: DWord; pszPath: PChar): Cardinal;

did you do step #4 correctly ? change line 1 in the script to where you installed the game ? Must have \" to be correct.
and using ansi version of inno not unicode version.

yea, the problem was the unicode version and also probably an earlier version of inno setup.

Hey, pakrat2k2. Can I leave only polish language in the game? Can I delete the other like french or english? Or RAGE needs them?

you will have to leave english but can delete all others you dont want.
