Peter, setup.exe has "Dirt3" in the file description properties, perhaps you can fix it?

@lucas1412

error 2738 means: 'Could not access VBScript runtime for custom action':

Maybe the runtime component of vbs is not registered, type the following on dos shell (C:\WINDOWS\system32 for x86, C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64 for x64):

Code:

REGSVR32.EXE vbscript.DLL
or disable the f*****g antivirus

@sulfurum1989

you need at least 16 gb of free space on target drive, or disable the f*****g antivirus

lukas1412 23-10-2011 02:21

@peterf1999

Thank you :)

lllo 24-11-2011 09:31

Sorry peterf1999,
DROTR.pcf 9 Gb (ok)
DROTR.srep 6,09 Gb (not 5 Gb)
what should I do?

Revolted5555 27-11-2011 12:09

Second conversion of a game using freearc, precomp and srep that I keep getting over-sized, tried two times.

DROTR.arc - 5.92GB
DROTR.pcf - 8.97GB
DROTR.srep - 6.10GB

I don't know whats going wrong but I keep getting those sizes, any help?

lllo and Revolted5555, you MUST compress the .srep file with FreeArc Again. And THAT'S explained in Peterf's conversion...

Once again, people, READ THE CONVERSION CAREFULLY, IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND A POINT, THEN READ AGAIN BEFORE ASKING!

Revolted5555 28-11-2011 19:43

So the final DROTR file after compressing with freearc, precomp, srep AND freearc again being 7.45GB is normal to you KillerOh? I only posted the sizes of the first .arc, .pcf and .srep BECAUSE the sizes may not be right since the final compression with freearc gives me a 7.45GB file, correct me if I'm wrong but its supposed to fit in one DVD5 not still fit in one DVD9.

KillerOh 28-11-2011 20:09

Surely, your nickname matches yourself, Revolted5555.

To make it simple for you understand: DO THE CONVERSION AGAIN, but carefully follow the steps and see if YOU haven't done something wrong.. This, or buy a Double-Layer DVD (DVD9). No, better, buy two single DVD5 for the 2xDVD5 conversion for MUCH LESS messing. Seriously.
Oh, BTW, Peterf's final sizes for the "PreComp'ed" and "SRep'ed" are about 9Gb and 5Gb, respectively.

For a better explanation, read further... but there's neither needed nor useful for you. Just do the conversion again.

No - And mainly because FreeArc should be able to compress the "SRep'ed" file far more than compressing the original game files without neither PreComp Nor SRep, so getting a file EVEN BIGGER in the final FreeArc's compression is just VERY unlikely, mostly due a mistake from you.

Oh, and before I forget: NEITHER YOU NOR lllo talked about the FINAL .arc filesize(The one you create after FreeArc with no-compress settings, then PreComp then SRep). I cannot read your minds or see the filesizes from your PC to GUESS that all the sh*t that happened was with the Freearc's final compression. That's why people should inform the maximum avaliable data so we can SURELY say what's wrong, as a "PreComp'ed" file is supposed to be bigger than the original, "uncompressed" file. This (FreeArc's zero compression followed by PreComp then SRep then MAX SETTINGS for FreeArc again) is done to archieve a even bigger compression with FreeArc

I'll not correct you, do it by yourself. PERIOD.

Oh, BTW, don't expect too much reply from Peterf too. Just see the last ones a little above...

Chompower 15-12-2011 22:53

You create them. Read the conversion guide.

Maxgrilo 10-05-2016 19:51

Here not worked, not how the game is not the media.cab do not have to convert, if it were to compress.bat or UltraARC was simpler.
