is it possible to create it with other languages too, or must it be "en" and "it", because you've created modified files... i would keep the german language!

raimi_18 11-03-2011 01:38

thx... it works

Thanks Peter. Is there any way to free ~1.1GB of space, so that we can include the high resolution textures?

I don't think it's possible :(

which video card do you have?

You need at least a DX 11 video card with 1024mb of video memory

d00m3d 11-03-2011 11:01

Oh well, it's ok! ;)

I have recently bough a GTX 460. But you don't need a DX11 card, Bioware says: "Most of the benefits from the Hi-resolution textures will only be seen if you are able to run the game in DirectX 11."

Most but not all :)

If someone don't care about the quality of the movies and he really wanna get a 1xDVD5 conversion without any compressing/decompressing files just download my attachment from any of the three links below in the instructions.

1. Create DA2_1xDVD5 folder and copy all files from DVD9 (original game disc) to it.

2. Download the attachment with low quality movies and installmanifest_lang.ini files of your choice (there are files for PL/ENG/DE/ES/IT/FR/RU installmanifest files):

Code:

http://hotfile.com/dl/109882145/4faa19d/DA2.1xDVD5(low.def.movies).rar.html
http://www.fileserve.com/file/sDUPT8v
http://www.filesonic.com/file/206241782

3. Decompress the archive DA2.1xDVD5(low.def.movies).rar
4. copy/move the installmanifest_lang.ini file for your language(where lang is PL/EN/DE/ES/IT/FR/RU) and campaign_movies archives to DA2_1xDVD5\data folder.
5. delete other languages(if you have PL/ES/IT or RU language delete rest of the languages except EN lang files, if you have FR/DE or EN language then delete the rest language except the ones that are for your language).
(if you don't know what files you can't delete just open your installmanifest_lang.ini file and watch the list )
6. If you have a PC without MAC OS than delete xxx_mac.rar files. If you have that system then just skip this point.
7. Burn or make iso with label name of your choice.
8. Enjoy your backuped Dragon Age 2 one/two language game

100% working process.
My language after conversion: PL/ENG (yes two languages because PL language has only subtitles and uses ENG voice lang files)
Size of the DVD: 4,00GB

For polish+english conversion without the awful movies quality :D:

Replace:

core_game_it.rar
campaign_game_it.rar
installmanifest_it.ini

with

core_game_pl.rar
campaign_game_pl.rar
installmanifest_pl.ini

Follow the steps above and use the autorun_xml_POL_ENG.7z

Schabik 13-03-2011 07:05

I think if you use Peterf1999 Conversion + my "awful" movies you'll get enough space for HiTexturePack:D But I didn't test it so I don't really know if it can be attached to the 1xDVD5 Conversion:)

urnsim2 13-03-2011 08:08

Thanks. My installation ended normally but the DA2_arc.exe is not auto extracted?

Schabik 13-03-2011 12:49

Have you created the ISO??

urnsim2 13-03-2011 15:51

Yes. Followed peterf1999 instructions exactly. But from the DA2_1xDVD5.7z files, I couldn't see any reference to unpack the arc file.

Schabik 13-03-2011 21:09

I've tested he peterf1999 conversion and worked perfectly for me when I've created the ISO. My conversion works too and it don't contain any FREEARC archive so test it too, ok?? :) or try again peter's conversion because I'm sure that it works

urnsim2 14-03-2011 05:38

Ok. Worse come to it, I'll just manually extract the arc file. Thanks.

lllo 14-03-2011 09:14

Thanks Peterf1999!!!

Works 100% win 7 x86:D

snake_77 20-03-2011 09:03

lefter2901 27-03-2011 14:34

I'm not familiar with FreeArc at all. I just installed it... how can I use that custom SFX module you provided there? I can't find such option anywhere.

pakrat2k2 27-03-2011 16:45

extract the custom sfx module into the folder where you installed freearc, but backup original file first. the SFX file is in FreeArc\bin.

shanrq 28-03-2011 00:28

sorry for out of topic.. :D

Just tried this conversion, I have the same problem.

LE: after decompressing the files campaign_data.rar, core_audio.rar, campaign_vo_en.rar make sure you put them in the same dir all together so you should have 2 directories modules and packages that contain all the files from the 3 files mentioned earlier. Afterwards go ahead and use freearc to build the DA2_arc.exe. That should fix everything.

Domius 02-05-2011 07:03

Works perfectly and the screen that shows while extracting archive during installation is really nice. Great work, thanks!

med12 28-11-2011 10:36

thanks 100% working(install/uninstall/patching) on windows 7 ultimate 32-bit but i didn't use the 'FreeArc_sfx.7z ' file from the attachment i didn't know what to do with it or how to use it but it installed and uninstalled flawlessly without using it. what was that file for anyway?

pakrat2k2 28-11-2011 18:02
