1) Extract 'Dead_Space_2_2xDVD5.7z' contents

2) Launch FreeArc & compress the following original files (use custom SFX Module freearc_SFX.7z):
Output archive: DS2_arc
Compression: -mx -ld800m
Make exe: Windows GUI: freearc.sfx checked

3) Create the contents of DVDs, as shown in the images below:

4) Edit 'localization.ini' in 'support' folder under [LOCALES] label,
put a space character to front every row of foreign languages entries

5) Burn or make ISOs with label names as temp folders

Only one question: all the files in your convertion are totally 7,87 GB ... Is it possible to make a conversion for only one DVD9 (changing the autorun.dat, maybe?) ?

Making a iso with all the files in this conversion doesn't work (of course :) )

Yep

Extract the content of freearc_SFX.7z into the "bin" subdirectory (located where you've installed freearc!) and overwrite

to edit the *.dat files you have to use Orca.
You can find it in softpedia:

the files above contain french & english, i don't think you can delete one of them, you need both files

make FreeArc Archive but this time compress
DS2DAT2.DAT
DS2DAT3.DAT

output archive name DS2_arc.exe using settings and sfx module from Peterf1999 conversion

replace those 2 files with dummy files

use autorun.inf from Peterf1999 conversion or change it to be like this

replace autorun.dat with the one in the attached rar archive

Burn or Mount folders with lable DS2_1, DS2_2


INSTALATION SEQUENCE: DVD1, DVD2, FINISH

What rastan76 said was correct, you have to "overwrite" the default freearc sfx module with peterf's custom one, that's what he means by "using" his module. Remeber to back up your original module to revert the changes once the converstion is finished ;)

cant be split to 2xdvd5's, too big, if you want ALL languages.

The MSI database is multi 2 (ITA-SPA) not multi 3, although the movies folder 'en' (moviesEnFinger component)
contains one english video 'ealogo.vp6'.
Indeed the database contains only two mst (es.mst, it.mst) ;)

peterf1999, i see that many time you use -ld800m for decompress Arc archive.
i have 5gb of ram, if i use -ld50% or -ld75% for use more ram, the extraction is more fast? the extracted files may become corrupted?

Just because you have more memory, doesnt really make the extraction faster, it all depends on what was used when the archive was created.

good page with screenshot under Adjustment of compression, the version doesnt matter it's just 1 I found that was english not russian.

BECAUSE THE PATH is /movies/en --> the en will be whatever language you chose to use! be it EN/FR/ AND
the conversion posted by napalmguy is for the multi2 version only.. doesnt work with the multi6

btw i think if i'm not mistaken that u tried the conversion from ur hard drive not from mounted iso or burnt backup, or else why would it ask for source folder "D:\movies":eek::eek:

The installer didn't find the DS2DAT5.DAT, cause the installer expects to find it in a logical unit (DS2_2 Disc).
Make the isos for testing, don't install from temp folders!

The autorun is not untouched, was bad edited

On dvd2 the following files:
DS2_arc.exe contains -> DS2DAT3.DAT, DS2DAT2.DAT

The labels are 'Disc1' and 'Disc2'

I had some problem with this conversion but managed to figure it out myself. Though I think you missed directx folder. Where should I put it?

Can somebody help me? I try to make napalmguy's conversion with some changes:
-Have one more dat file(DS2DAT6.DAT)
-I want to put the movies directory on the first dvd, but after editing the autorun.dat file it always want the another dvd, finally, it dosent install the game.
What must i modify in the autorun.dat, so i can make the conversion?

napalmguy's is foe english only. Look at post #1 to see what lang corresponds with dat6 file. the movies belong to dvd1 so leave them there, its coded in the autorun.dat file where they are. AND too much work to change all locations to dvd2. or just use peter's conversion as it already has the dat6 file in its autorun, just pick what language you want to use from the first post, as well as the correct freearc sfx file that you want to show up in the conversion. They are BOTH 2xdvd5 conversions.
