Worms: Armageddon 3.6.31.0 beta no-CD patch
 

I don't have the game, I created the previous patches upon request of a colleague of mine. I created this one from experiments with the update main executable only (!). It expects a full install, that is, the CD's DATA directory copied into the game's installation directory. Someone, please, test it; if it works, I'll create a patch out of it.

I get a prompt to insert CD when using your crack. The game boots fine without the crack thou.

Have you copied the complete DATA directory from the CD to the game installation directory? (See the crack for German v1.00 for a very detailed description.) Try previous updates (from http://www.patches-scrolls.de) and their respective cracks (from GCW); if those work then mine should, too... in theory. ;) Also, make a log with Sysinternals' ProcMon and find out which file the program tries to access and, because the file does't exist, it displays the "insert CD" prompt.

In the meantime, I'll continue my experiment with dynAdZ's mini image...

I won't try to run WA anymore as it totally crashed my computer (the game, not your crack). I didn't much like that. Sorry Joe.

Here's another try, this time for the 3.6.31.0 beta patch; it seems to work without the mini image, too. Someone, please, test it.

hi, tried it with your 3.6.31.0 exe, game starts, but as soon as i click through the menu (i.e. team statistics or choosing my team in the mission list) the game quits with a fatal error (detailed info in the errorlog.txt file.....)

I've tried with 3.6.31.0 .exe too and the same error as alexxxej appear :(

the info about file on the gcw is a bit unfull. The guy who provided the information forgot to mention that DATA folder itself has to be copied from the CD/image to the Worms Armageddon's root folder with the override confirmation (better to do it before applying patches). This is important because many nocd suppliers vary in the ways of installation, which make bugs or impossibility to play offline (some ask for the contents to be copied, instead of the folder itself, and some even ask to put into the root of C:, which is the worst, I think). Otherwise, if you don't copy the folder, you won't be able to start a match (and even the mounted CD/Image won't help).

PS: probably once Kawoosh will remake his nocd into a WormKit module (DLL file), which will solve problems like Antivirus false positives (and the possibility to enjoy the original WA.exe at the same time), Universality (to be able to run in both ways - with and without CD/Image), Size (it won't be bigger than 40kB!) Notifications about errors (for example "Oops! It seems like you forgot to copy your DATA folder, and don't seem to have your CD/Image inserted/mounted either...", etc). :) Date is unknown yet
