2 Attachment(s)
Blur DVD9 -> DVD5 1, Install the game from the original DVD9. 2, Compress "cache" and "levels" folders with FreeArc: Code:
-mx -ld192m4, Delete Group1.cab, Group11.cab and WW_CAB.cab, only Group2.cab needed. 5, Delete Setup folder from this temp dir. 6, Copy and overwrite existing files downloaded from attachment. 7, Move the copressed Freearc archive to nGame folder. 8, Make an ISO with Blur_DVD lablel. 9, Install Game with LAUNCHER.EXE (this very important). 10, Final ISO size: 4,36 GB. The game will create registry keys with the original installer, so you can apply updates. Uninstall also works. Attachment 1811 |

good work mate. but you can also include exe extractor into your msi can you explain for what the all exes are?? i will make a simple script for you. |
Quote:
Launcher.exe launches install.exe with /silent /suppressmsgboxes commands, Install launching setup, after setup finished install.exe launches the nGame\decomp.exe with /silent /suppressmsgboxes commands the program reads the game folder from registry and then extract the freearc archives. |
ok. tried it.
works fine. decompression uses 50% cpu, and ~360MB of ram. decompression took about 5 minutes. so i'm glad installation didn't take long |

Hi senseman
Your conversion works fine, however, i got this message Whats happening? My OS is Win7 SP1 x86 Please help :D I must end with Task Manager. Uninstall option also didn't work in control panel; it said something like "gameuxhelper.dll" My 2nd attached pics shows whats was inside the .ISO :) |
first time any of yours conversions worked for me .. hopefully this means that otheres are going to finaly work as well ...
|
Thanks Peter, good conversion runs smoothly

But I am also getting those files created by arc generator... :( EDIT :- I found the solution for the problems faced above. The way this conversion was created is that a custom installer was made which unpacks the BLUR.arc file. This installer was renamed "vcredist_x86" while the original vcredist_x86 was renamed "vcredist_x86_inst". When the installer finishes then it unpacks the "vcredist_x86_inst" in any other partition on the HDD so that one can manually install the original vcredist_x86 if the need arises. That's why so many files were created. Now vcredist_x86 (*original* which was re-named vcredist_x86_inst inside the downloaded custom archive BLUR_1xDVD5.7z) is just Visual C++ redistributable which is most probably already installed by any other game & may not be needed. Unless you need to install Visual C++ to run the game (provided BLUR is the first game you installed) you can safely delete it when creating the ISO file after copying the supplied archive content from BLUR_1xDVD5.7z. Or maybe create a folder naming anything like "VC++_x86" while making the ISO & move the "vcredist_x86_inst" file there so that you can manually install it if needed... Tested on Win 7 SP1 x86 It works. You can install & uninstall the game. You can even use Updates if the need arises.. :) Thanxx peterf1999for the conversion... |
Thanks peterf1999. Worked flawlessly with win 7 32 bit
