Just finished ripping my first 2 games via my broadband adapter guys. used bbrip 1.1. get it at xenas homepage. gotta say that 40minutes max is one hell of alot better than 26 hours max. Works like a blissful orgasm. this is truly a godsend. also rips directly to iso image. no more lengthy ungzipping step, nor terminal steps/involvement. just pure windows interface goodness. those with broadband adapters run and get this gem!!

just an afterthought. if you have problems getting proper rips try unchecking ignore dummy option. may help

that is correct
all thats required is a 10mbps network card (cat5 crossover cable) to do it. and bbrip 1.1 simplicity in itself. no other software/hardware required. ok, well off to blockbuster i go!! OH JOY!!! |

ok, this may be dumb, but i am new. do you actually have to have a broadband connection, or can you just use the bba and a 10mbs network card and bbrip?

man, I wonder what I'm doing wrong. connects, get's track info, then when it has to do the sector rip, it'll give me an error.

If you rip a DC game using this method, is it still possible to modify the files in the generated .iso data file (or before making an iso file)? For example, the iso might be too big and it would be necessary to downsample/modify a few files prior to burning, right?

nonononono. thats all wrong. the bbrip prog gets you to the step after u have ungzipped your gzip files if u were serial ripping. so u get to downsample/work with game EXACTLY like in serial ripping. same concept just a diff road to get to the same destination guys.

if you're not sure then most likley it don't.
If you hav cable/dsl most likley you do, unless it's usb or parallel. it'll be on the back of your pc (most of the time). it'll have a connection that looks like a phone connector only a little bigger. if you have a BBA (BroadBand Adapter) for your DC, then it just might be that your pc has one. Ask the company where you bought it from and ask or ask a friend who might know what a Network card is. Do you have a Cat 5 (Category 5) UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable? it looks like a regular phone cord, but again, a little thicker and bigger. You'll need it to be a crossover to connect your dc directly to your PC. Clear now? :) |
geeez i need to get a broadband adaptor so bad... guess i can sell my serial cable and the software you need plus instructions to some loser at school that cant figure it out and make enough to buy a bba :) (never satisfied unless someone else got jacked in the process... lol) don't have a NIC either but those are like 15 bucks.. small price to pay. Doess it actually get 10mb/s?

---- Today 30-3-2001 "A SAD Day" I'm the 1st one post news to talk about bbrip was release, BBRip was post on my site and I never ask for any credit and i don't care who get credit. Half day later a guy screen name "nexea" download bbrip.zip from my site ,post on his site without ask for my premission and that time i feels ok because it can help more Dc user for ripping! But he delete the Author readme.txt Guide in bbrip.zip try fool ppl think that it's hard to use it even with a nice win32 Gui and copy the step by step guide from the Author readme.txt ,edit it add something and post on his site. He also post message said "finally figtured it out a way to rip DC gxxe with BBA." Finally have a fast method of ripping Dreamcast games reviled to the public! .LoL Nexea u finally figtured it out what's the readme.txt said not means nexea discover a way to rip DC game with BBA!!! The fast method of ripping DC games already discribe in the BBRip Author Readme.txt that Nexea deleted Before i reading his "Tutorial ,I've been ask him for permission for posting his tutorial on my site "that was my fault" Because His guide was follow ,edit ,add something from the BBrip Author readme.txt that nexea deleted So I never post his tutorial on my site!!! ,about hours later the totoek company owner came to my house ,give me a free bba ,so i post message in cdrom-guide board said "never mine,i got my bba and can create my own guide "on my site go.to/selfboot but this guy "Nexea" post message oncdrom-guide board and ask me to give big credit to him!!! What a A&&hole! I never ask him give any credit to me for about I post the bbrip in this board.But he ask me .LoL he's point was he is the world 1st person discover the method about how to extract 2 iso track by using Extract.exe which made by Bero Fews month ago!!! He also said i stole his tutorial and copy it line by line , WTF "Nexea" Logic??? I want to ask Nexea did he remember he said that to use join.exe or extarct.exe in wtf NEO GEO ripping software before ?? That spot out Nexea never rip dc gxxe before and don't know how to use dos command ie.copy/b . I have been ripping my own DC game using dreamrip near 3month after Bero release his great DreamRip utility and i post my DreamRip Tutorial long time ago include how to extract iso track!!! Also the Extract.exe usage was include in the dreamrip readme.txt and the tutorial was totally different from Nexea expect the step about need to turn on the dc power when ripping " ~~~LoL There's noting any information i got from the nexea site Nexea there's 1 simply working step by step for bba ripping!!! Follow the BBRip.zip Author Readme.txt Do i need to post the extract ISO method first than follow the step to turn the DC Power on, LoL Can u save the track iso raw before turn on the DC and getting track information??? You know how to turn the DC power on,that not means other ppl don't know!!! nexea u think u're the clever & smart one in the world??? Use your Brain Nexea.
