Sam and Max Season 1
 

Is there any chance for a no-cd crack for the English version of Sam and Max Season 1. Presently there's only one for the German version and it doesn't work for the English version. When I tried it I got major stalls on my computer and then a virtual memory low box came up. :(

I just tried the German noCD crack and it worked just fine. I've been playing for about 20 minutes with no hang ups at all. I will update if I run into anything. Hope you can get it running. Just out of curiousity, which episode did you try first? I have only tried Episode I thus far.

I tried the first one Culture Shock. I moved the crack to the Culture shock game folder and got the do you want to replace and said yes. When I clicked on culture shock just got an hour glass for a minute or 2 and nothing. Were you playing the English version or the German?

Thanks Joe, Will try and let you know once it downloads. One question, I have a hyper speed internet connection so why is this taking over 20 minutes to download? Usually the noCD's take a minute or less to download (ex. the German version of this took about 1.5 minutes).

Because my site is slow.

Is there any way you could upload the file to the site where the German crack is? So far the download says I have 2 hours + left. I appreciate you giving me the crack and thank you for it but will probably wind up going to bed with the computer on and the monitor turned off. Was hoping to play a little tonight. Thanks again for it.

Thanks again Joe the cracks worked perfectly for episodes 1-2. Unfortunately the download stopped short and I didn't get the no-cd's for 3, 4, 5 & 6. Could you possibly email them to me? I sent you a PM with my email address. Thanks again.

These cracks work for the Direct Download version too AFAIK. Not so sure that's a good thing.

What's AFAIK? All I know is that the first 2 cracks work perfectly. I tried to download them again overnight Joe and once agaion the same thing happened. The first 2 were fine and then it suddenly stopped at the third (file corrupted).

Yes, it's the cd version.

What protection does your game have? I'm led to believe the English CD version is not protected?

Download PiD http://pid.gamecopyworld.com/ and use it to check your CD and installed game so we can see what protection it uses!

Securom 7.00002, as reported by A-Ray in the directory scan. I get the securom disk check and then insert original disk or emulation software detected. The 2 files (episode 1 &2) that Joe sent me worked. Just need 3-6 now (download stopped short.

heh not 7.000002 - a-ray is outdated crap, scan with protectionid instead...

ProtectID shows nothing but A-Ray shows the Se3curom version I mentioned. As stated before I get the Securom disk checking for an original game disk or the securom emulation detected message.

aray is simply wrong... the last PID v5.2c can´t detect it either because detection is only valid for secu 7.00 - v7.30. (wait for PID v6 :))
Sam & Max is secu 7.32 wrapped i think...

German version is Securom I think, USA version maybe unprotected?

I've stated before Barry Whenever I put the disk in the drive and click the game exe I get the Securom disk icon and then the message insert original disk if I have my game burn disk in the drive or the emulation detected message, so there's definitely Securom protection with the U.S version. So thus I guess A-Ray got it right as ProtectID didn't show anything. It could be that ProtectID didn't detect anything because the protection maybe wasn't in the episode exe's and as A-ray scans the whole directory it found the protection elsewhere

Yeah, you said about securom, but those unleashed files look to be from an unprotected English version so I was just wondering which version they came from, i.e. US, UK, Australia etc!

U.S. version from The Adventure Company

Sorry, for this bump but I didn't know if this was a forum against duplicate topics or thread necromancy. Did anything ever come of this? I got both Season 1 and 2, the DVD versions directly from TellTale today and season 2 is all cracked and ready to go but the German versions of the season 1 fixes do not work for the English games.

I've uploaded the cracks for (all 6 episodes of) the English release to GCW.
