Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (GRAW2)

looking at the GCW page of GRAW 2 it seems like it doesn't use protection only serial. is this true, anyone confirm this? if true ima wait till circuit city/best buy drops price

wolfsrain 08-07-2007 23:20

True. Only serial number as protection.

GLH 09-07-2007 00:49

Thread renamed.

chron 09-07-2007 00:52

There is a release from SKiDROW which has no copy protection. Rumors say that it is not final. But the demos also were not copy protected (normally they are securom wrapped if retail game uses securom). Maybe we will see the first patch coming soon or a real final proper.

wolfsrain 09-07-2007 08:34

Release date for EU is 13th of July 2007. For US is 17th of July 2007.
The game is in gold for quite a bit by now(almost two weeks). So if there is a leaked version, it might be the EU version. And I've never heard of a demo with a serial number.

chron 09-07-2007 08:51

nobody talked about a demo with serial number?

DABhand 10-07-2007 00:55

The guy was talking about a beta with serial. He said demo just from the top of his head.

Dragunov 10-07-2007 02:16

In the future, we maybe gonna see games who all require activation, as Windows, Office....

OR bound to an account as STEAM

DABhand 10-07-2007 18:23

Good would stop all the cheapskates out there :P

dazzashazza 11-07-2007 02:10

@Dabhand - so what do you mean by cheapskates, ahem ? :p

Maybe the developers have given up protecting their works of art as it seems most protections can be overcome. Perhaps it's just Ubisoft in this case.

Lets face it, if games were a little cheaper then maybe there would be less piracy and more sales. Having said that I do understand it probably costs these game companies alot of money to produce a title and therefore they need to recoup their costs AND make a profit.

Just need to find a balance really . Internet retailers such as Play.Com sell at pretty good prices particularly PC games. The likes of DIRT the latest Colin Mcrae offering is £17.99 on Play.Com which if you have a behemoth of a PC to play it on is great value especially when compared to the Xbox360 version which is I believe £39.99. Again, you weigh up the cost of building a high spec PC to buying a console and the pro's and cons of both and takes your choice.

Happy gaming everyone and apologies to the Admin team if this reply is a little off topic on this thread.

Cheers.

As I will keep on saying, no matter what the price is people will still steal (Piracy is when media is sold for profit, not when downloading thats being a warez user), its happened since the 80's and it will continue to the way afters.

This "costs too much excuse" has also been around from the year dot. The reason why its used alot as it makes people feel better for their stealing.

People steal big price items (utilities that are a huge price for a reason) and also small priced items (shareware titles that require a minimal fee to fully function). As long as kids have their broadbands they will continue to steal, no matter how many times they try to say they arent doing anything wrong.

I ask you this, how many people use WinRAR without paying for it. Then ask again, how many would pay for it (not just say they would for the sake of it).

dazzashazza 12-07-2007 07:29

@DABhand.....so do you pay for all your software and games then ? :p

Joe Forster/STA 12-07-2007 07:53

If he doesn't, he's not to discuss it on this forum. So, effectively: yes, of course, he does. ;)

chron 12-07-2007 08:21

first patch from Ubisoft:
http://patches.ubi.com/ghost_recon_a..._warfighter_2/

Seems that it fixes the mission2 bug and some other minor glitches.

Sad that the game has not been released yet.

ERASER_M 12-07-2007 08:56

i've bought the game today and there's no protection! (GERMAN VERSION !!!) i can play without DVD...

DABhand 12-07-2007 09:41

To answer yes I buy my games. I own a business so I get a wee discount off the price from suppliers :)

I dont buy every game going, as im not gonna be able to play every game going, I will only buy the games that get a good press, has interest or a good franchise.

dazzashazza 12-07-2007 11:04

Ah fair enoughski DAB ;)

Isnt it funny how other people answer for you ? !! :p

Joe...haven't you got anything better to do ? over 5000 posts, jeeze !!

"Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 GRAPHIC CARD BOOST PATCH"

What the heck is this? I trust GCW but this has no info or anything, it stinks of being malware.

Joe Forster/STA 16-07-2007 04:46

Probably some hacked configuration file that makes the game run faster by switching off some graphics settings...

kfgd63 04-03-2008 12:14

This game fix for digital download source game.

Repeat digital download source.

DABhand 04-03-2008 20:42

Doesnt the digital download source only have a check for online.

If so, that crack is not valid.

Explain not valid. I am a rookie here.:cool::cool:

DABhand 05-03-2008 22:57

Well not valid means not allowed.

As you can see from Empire's edit above that it isnt supported here.

The reason being, the digital download can be downloaded for free and then you stick a crack on, that is warez as you basically got the game for nothing.

BarryB 06-03-2008 04:40

Cracks for Digital Download games where the actual game itself can be legally downloaded as a trial won't be allowed, as DABhand says, it means you can downlaod the game for free and use the crack to avoid paying for it!
