Sims 2 H&M Fashion Problem
 

Well I seem to be having some problems and I'm about to give up. :( I un-installed and re-installed the game several times trying different methods to get this to work.. I have Expansions: (below)

The Sims 2 (Cd Version)
University
Nightlife
Holiday (Christmas) Party Pack
Open for Business
Family Fun Stuff
Glamour Life Stuff
Pets
Seasons
H&M Fashion

Everytime I try to run H&M Fashion. It gives me this error message. "You are running the wrong version of The Sims 2. Please run The Sims 2 Seasons instead." However when I delete Expansions Pets and Seasons. H&M Fashions run perfectly fine.. So I was wondering what to do?


Also I was wondering, ever since I installed the seasons expansion my resolution is at 800x600.. and it won't let me change it in the menu.. So I was also wondering if this is normal.

Also In celebration stuff expansion, it gives that problem so you must enter game with seasons.But I don't know why is it.

I can change my resolution in seasons maybe your monitor don't support other
resolutions or other resolution's Hz. but maybe

Does this happen with or without fixed exes?

Well I found out the resolution problem... It works before the game is patched then after it sets itself to 800x600 so I'm not sure why. but my monitor can go way higher.

I still can't get the H&M fashion expansion to work.. :( Even when I run it in seasons, it doesn't recognize it. So I'm going crazy.. I really want to play it.

Edit: It does the same with and without..

Since it behaves the same with the original exe i suppose you can ask EA-games support...

This's ranking of Sims 2 EP SP. Although H&M Fashion Stuff and Celebration! Stuff are new than Seasons and Pets, you must run the game with Seasons or Pets.

The stuff packs are not truly expansions. So they will use exe from the true expansions packs(expansion packs are considered: University, NightLife, Open For Business, Pets and Seasons). The stuff packs are adding just stuff(clothes, furnitures and such). The "stuff" packs are not changing the gameplay and they do not bring some new elements into play.

The problem is quite simple:
The addon h&m fashion includes an update for the seasons game to a newer version, if you now start the game with the cracked addon exe it gives you an error message that the addon exe is not the latest version...cause seasons is now the latest one...
You need a cracked version of the uptated Seasons exe (old one is 1.6, new one is 1.7) to get this working...if u replace the 1.7 version from seasons with the old cracked version from 1.6, i think the game doesnt works correct any longer...
We have to wait, til a cracked version of the latest seasons exe is available...

Hey, I have the same problem, but when I uninstall the seasons and pets expansion packs I am able to play the game with the H&M cd, the reason why we can't play pets and seasons with the H&M cs is because when the stuff pack is installed it also installs the latest patches for seasons and pets, if there is a way to prevent the patches from installing then we will be able to play seasons and pets with the H&M cd.... I've tried just hitting cancel when the patches are being installed but that makes the installation of the whole H&M pack to cancel, so does anybody know a way to prevent the patches from pets and seasons to install and just install the H&M stuff?

BTW, I have the H&M cd but downloaded the other expansion packs....

If u have Seasons or Pets installed, you will never start the game from H&M addon.
The only way to start the game is with seasons or pets, and using an image file and latest yasu tool. (til a new cracked version of the updated .exe is available)
The celeb and H&M stuff is already available, and the game is running perfect without any crash or error...;)

You run the seasons exe file to run the game. To fix the graphics res however, you need to edit the graphics rule file for H&M. It's wierd but it works.

Play every Sims2 add-on you want to play.
 

Yesterday i have installed Sims2 + all add-ons.
Nice game, funny.......but not for long.

I re-installed Sims2, with some newer files, but got the same error.
After reading some messages here about this "wrong version" problem, i know now that waiting for the latest fixed.exe one of the less options is.
The home made DVD Installer is great, but perhaps too difficult for most people.

For all Diehard Sims2 Freaks, who can't live a day without Sims, i have good news. Not very new news, but something easy to do, so that everybody can use all the Sims2 add-ons he/she wants.

If you have a second pc ? Great. If you use your pc only for internet en webmail? Perfect.

How does it work ?

1)Install a programm like Acronis true Image.
2)Install Sims2, and make a image of your Windows system.
3)Install a Sims2 add-on, and make a second image of your Windows XP
4)Intstall the next add-on, and make again a new image
5)For every add-on you kan make a image of course.

If you play Sims2 Pets, and you want to play Sims2 with another add-on.
NO problem!
If you don't have a pc from before the second World War, but something like AMD Athlon 64X Dual Core processor 3800+ 2 gigabyte RAM for example.
It will take less then 7 minutes switching between these Sims2 home made images.

What is 7 minutes ? Not much if you really love the Sims.
This will work the best of course, if you use your pc only for internet, and Webmail. If you change your image, all emails are lost in Outlook.

Save all your Sims2 data savings onto a second partition on your harddisk .
If you change later your image back to Sims2 Pets, will everything be the same.

To make these first images is a one time job, and lees then 2 hours work.
You don't want to start everytime at the beginning of a Sims2 game of course, so will you will have to make when you are finished a new image..

Good image software have a option, that only the changed data will be backupped. It's done in 3 minutes, and not 2 hours like in the good old days.

How nice, to play the game that you want, and not only the latest installed.
