How I can make a BIA earned in blood NoCD/DVD patch??

I play this game for long time, but the CD/DVD is going to death, and I'm playing v1.03 patch. How I can to make a No CD/DVD patch for this game?

If you need to ask how, you're already on the wrong tracks so turn back: learn assembly and the Windows API first.

kernel drivers that hook critical API's
Huh? Most?

Securom doesn't use a driver I think, and Safedisc doesn't hook API's to my knowledge... and I think that accounts for "most"...

cdkiller 24-04-2007 02:28

Themida used a ring0 driver in itīs very first release. but due compatibility reasons they dropped it, developed a VM and went ring3 :)

to come back to the question...

crack starforce v3.6, there is no additional disc check ;)

TippeX 24-04-2007 07:42

oh for fuck sake, give over about obfuscation opcodes, and iat, u are out of your league and its showing, u know little or nothing about the protections stated and are trying to make it look like you do..

Quote:

SecuROM and SafeDisc obfuscate code, turning regular asm opcode to own syntax (encryption ?).

cpu -> x86 based, can ONLY run x86 code.. and x86 opcodes.. anything else is unsupported by the architecture..

'own syntax' can only be 2 things...

1. obfuscation
2. virtual machine opcodes - which are NEVER executed by the chip

safedisc has a driver, securom did too though it isnt used, starforce has 2+ drivers..

starforce iat is hardly rocket science - it all depends on your approach..

caki 24-04-2007 16:17

Only Starforce I looked at was the protected notepad with basic SF 4.7, and that was pretty normal IAT redirection for these days.... and obfuscation is pretty common these says too. Only thing that isn't the norm are VM's, but they'll probably be the most popular protection method in the future.

Yep :D It was quite a pity too, now anyone with olly can take a crack at it :D

TippeX 24-04-2007 17:42

yup, agreed..
starforce - vm'd - 2 or more - 1 is ring 0 (in the driver(s))
safedisc - vm'd - think theres only 1 - excluding the driver (secdrv.sys i think) is ring 3
securom - vm'd - 2 or more.. is ring 3

seems ring 0 isn't too popular with the end user.. i'd personally blame starforce and other drm audio drivers on that...

caki 24-04-2007 19:43

Well, I've never gone r0 or played with drivers, but I'll assume compatibility is a bitch... that and the entire Windows Vista certificate dance :S

TippeX 24-04-2007 23:18

naw, compatibility isnt too hard, if you stick to the rules, and the vista certificate dance ... yeh... i hear ya... all drivers must be signed etc etc.....
microsoft have yet to realise that security != (ease of use for the customer + time taken)

:)

Sunbeam: I agree with the other guys, your style is irritating; you want to look cool and knowledgeable when you actually aren't. So, please, drop the attitude. Thank you!

(As for the "free country" stuff, this forum is NOT a free country: if you cannot behave yourself in a way that is accepted by other forum members, you'll have to leave. Remember, neither is democracy about a "free country": there are rules that you have to obey if you want to live there... I think you're mixing up anarchy with democracy and also need a session of reading the Netiquette...)

sheep 25-04-2007 04:45

hahah at last.. others are seeing sunbeam for EXACTLY what he is.. he does the same shit EVERYWHERE.. dropping stupid little comments which help noone, anyone with any knowledge can see instantly he knows nothing but hes impressed noobs for years, its like he just skips through a tutorial he doesnt understand AT ALL and spouts out the GENERAL phrases. Im glad everyone is getting fucking sick of his empty statements.

DABhand 25-04-2007 17:26

LOL wouldnt life be boring without a weekly flaming from the sheepmeister hehehe :P

caki 25-04-2007 17:34

I never heard of stealing trainers lol. Then again I'm not really into the trainer thing. No patience for it :P

TippeX 25-04-2007 23:02

weird, i cant see the posts from sunbeam heh

Joe Forster/STA 26-04-2007 00:07

Yes, Sunbeam has deleted his posts so no more bashing, please.

TippeX 26-04-2007 05:00

aw :( a step in the right direction i guess...

i mean i dont mind people learning and occasionally making mistakes in stuff they say, but well... theres a difference in knowing and guessing, and mis-information really pisses me off... simply because other people possibly starting off read the bad 'information' and get lost very quickly or gain bad knowledge.. and then it spreads....

Muji-FightR 26-04-2007 09:09

What's the point of a forum discussion then, if everyone just deletes everything he regrets having said ? Readers are unable to follow the course and the whole thread doesnt make sense anymore...
Why not just leave it at that, why still try being right not having said something wrong :)
I DO doubt he did it because he thinks what he did was wrong but rather because this was ridiculous for him ?!

کunβeam 26-04-2007 11:12

Last post I ever make on these forums.

I did it because I was intending of wiping my posts. Some threads are locked, thus the impossibility of deleting. Am through with people that try to over-power the bits and pieces we try to collect or read up on. Sure, if you're pro, let's chat. But don't be lame, and wait for someone to say something - how shall I put it - out of place, to come and state your opinion. Why not reply in the first place? Why wait for someone to screw up?

I'm through with this forum not because I can't handle it, but mostly because there are enough people to have a go or say at what others need help with. Period. Out, for good.

P.S.: I know you give a shit. Requesting user deletion...

Joe Forster/STA 26-04-2007 12:39

(Upon request, user permbanned - can't delete users...)

caki 26-04-2007 13:25

Well now this part of the forums will slink into its usual bout of inactivity :(

TippeX 26-04-2007 14:07

heh, sad to see him go, if he was willing to learn then maybe myself and others might have helped, sadly he guessed, used mis-information and theres also the possibility of him thieving work and passing it off as his own...well, that and ego... but well, he's the one who was masquerading... not anyone else..
i just hope whatever (unfortunate?) forum he ends up on he might have a different personality...

pikachu5501 28-04-2007 11:40

If i got pissed-off and left every time someone point some of my mistake when i'v been a "noob" myself, i would't have learn anything usefull today and some peoples here know what i am talking about :p and i thanks theme all for they help and patience. :D
