S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Patch 1.0001 out !

just for info:
the first update for STALKER was released today.

The update fixes around 60 bugs including better performance, several crashes and some more stuff.
Older savegames can not be used after installing the update


I don´t know if the patch changes the game .exe - but it would be nice, if someone could check.
Hopefully, there will come a updated no-DVD file - this patch seems to be important.

Previous saves can't be used? What a bunch of tossers!!! Why play a game and get a long way in it then make you start all over again with a new patch, fucking ridiculous!! You would think in this day and age this sort of problem would have been solved years ago!!

As for the patch, it's an Inno Setup file so it's easy to extract the files with Inno Unpacker :) and it DOES update the EXE (SecuROM Detected - Version 7.21) so we'll all have to WAIT for a crack to appear won't we!

hmm inno unpack can extract it but the files are useless to ya as the extracted files are binaries of a patch file, saving only differences and not whole exe.
as for secu 7.21, pid is wrong, i bet on securom 7.32, will install the game later again with the new patch...

cracked patch is out by Vitality again. btw, new patch updates protection to 7.32.0009

Although ViTALiTY didn´t made a good job cracking this game the first time.
I remember lots of users, who had problemes using the cracked exe by ViTALiTY.

For other users - and for me too - the cracked exe by HATRED worked well....

With all the years in the making and the extended time this game took to be released you would have thought they would have had it right in the first place!! :rolleyes:

I KNEW there was a reason I did not want to progress too far into the game until the release of the first patch ;)

I just found the game a bit too buggy to play through it until the first patch was released...but now that I find out the old save games are not compatible, I'm all the happier :D

The fix is available now!

It's not the first game changing the savegame format, it should be easy to convert them but for some reason they do not support this... crappy programmers!

As for the Vitality bad crack discussion, all vitality did was disable a function in the .exe that warned about little virtual memory. thats all. Hatred's "proper" had that function enabled.

Both cracks works fine, same applies to the patch where both vitality and hatred have released cracks.

I am happy as well as I too knew there would have to be a patch very soon.
I didnt go to far in the game, I just found it didnt run as smooth as it should for a game which was in progress for a very very very long time. ;)

If you didn't have any problems playing with the retail then I'd just leave the patch alone. You know 9 times out of 10 that first patch and there-after is going to screw up the nocd.exe

if they cracked the newest version why don't they do the newer GRAW PATCHES?

There are still a lot of games with Starforce waiting for that, also. But the Dox scene for older games is done by indie crackers, because apparently the known groups are preffering to fight each other, instead of working together.

I bought Stalker right when it got released and started playing straight away...

I dont see why they had to recode the savegame structure, probably those retards updated the savegame structure and forgot to backup info about the old one so they're even unable to code some sort of converter...

It's much quicker than installing and patching the game though to see if the EXE has been updated :p

Anyone can upload original *.exe file?
Coz I can't update this shit without that (I've now only cracked .exe)..
I replaced original exe with that cracked one so I don't have that original anymore..
Im too lazy to reinstallation :P

Anyway this dann patch does not fix a lot of singleplayer bugs. I have been expecting that the patched wersion will be more stable but...

Later in the russian forum I found out that the game has permanent problems with ATI cards. So, I have Rad 9800 Pro and I am the unlucky one cause the fixes they promise for the patch 0002 will be not be solved.
