Simon the Sorcerer 4 Crack?
 

does anyone know which protection it uses and when theres gonna be a crack?

it uses Tages v5.5.2 + SolidShield as protection

Glade to see it's gone back to a Point n Click style game rather than the stupid 3D version they came up with last time!!

I assume this is a German release, not seen a date for English :(

the additional SolidShield is pretty new and crackers need to spend time with it... it has been "cracked" in WarFront Turning Point, sadly they used a loader (crack doesn´t start at OEP).
SolidShield seems to be tricky with its VM...

i have a vc6 file, but the system freeze if i run it with virtual cd...

it's a german game, hopefully a crack will be release soon...

Virtual CD is prolly blacklisted in Tages v5.5.2, perhaps thats the reason it freezes...

It freezed even with gothic 3 on some machines.

but some people got a tortuga - two treasures backup work with virtual cd. it's the same copy protection how simon 4: tages 5.5.2.1 and solidshield.for tortuga the fixed exe was released.does american or english cracker work on german games? :confused:

the so called "crack" is a loader. also rumors say it freezes/crashes at some place when using it. the solid shield protection seems like a though one because all cracks are loaders, not a single rebuilded exe...

I guess VM based protections often take rather long to be cracked properly since you have to analyze their structure etc which can take several weeks or months, depending on the amount of crackers in a group focussing on it.

I dont think "import redirection" (is there one ?) is very ahrd compared to the VM and virtualized code.

The point where it freezes is the scene after Simon meets his double at the road junction. There is a pursuit after that, Simon and his double reach the castle and thats the point where it freezes.

There is an hourglass, a black screen and nothing else happens, even after minutes of waiting.

There is a DVD check, just insert backup DVD and it works.

The game always gets stuck when one clicks to the town gate on the street.

So you may never click to the town gate on the street at present, the Game then immediately hangs itself up!

damn, it WORKS!!! Since Update to 1.1 Tages Protection is removed!!! :rolleyes:

Vista it's guilty for official protection removal. Most of the protections(Securom, Starforce, Tages) are conflicting with Vista protection. :D

Update 1.1 + crackfixed by Absurd works fine on WinXP-SP2 :D
finished the game without errors...

PLease....could somebody give me any advice...

Problem No1: I cannot install the patch 1.1 . If i try my pc wont run anymore. And the program gives no reply

Problem No2: If i replace the game exe with the crack.. there comes a failure message: Der Prozedureinsprungspunkt "DecodeImage" wurde in der DLL "hc.dll" nicht gefunden.

Help?

never heard of securom conflicting with vista...

Because Securom on the disc is the conflict :D it is a cross platform conflict.

What is securom...??

But i use win xp...

Securom is a professional CopyProtection, like Safedisc, StarForce, Táges, ProtectCD, ...)

hc.dll contains the solid shield protection. seems like the patch you installed either replaced the dll only or the exe, but not both.
