Hello i am trying the solution fo poseden, i mount the image with dm 4.08 and i use yasu, but when i launch the game with the executable of game i got a 1000 error topic of securerom, any idea?

same here,maybe any1 succeeded to backup the original?if yes any method will be appreciated.

i suppose that we must wait till the crack is out

BWT:sometimes i only use Alcohol 120% & yasu, the game worked

i did like said u nfo, but still, i get error 1000, perhaps its for the image of backup

After i installed Supreme Commander, i can play UFO afterlight only with yasu+DT4.08+maxi-image.

As i see you trying to shoot out secrum with not giving him any sys resources?Its a good idea,but if u got a good comp its not gonna work i think

If he had the original there would be a high percentage chance it would be working, but since he was talking about a mini-image to play the game which he eventually got working, he was a warez user.

Can someone help me with the instructions listed on gamecopyworld for using the mini-image. I mount the image with the newest DT, and then run YASU. But i'm not sure what the instruction want me to do with the image and Alcohol 120%.

It says, "Use Alcohol 120% to make an image from the virtual drive, now run the Game at once."

From which virtual drive? The one from DT? Or a new one using Alcohol? I've tried it different ways but I can't get it to work. Can someone please explain how it works for them? Thanks

Okay, this is a little complicated. I don't know what combination of stuff works but... here we go... Hopefully you don't have to spend 6 hrs plus getting it to work...

1: Update SPTD 1.39 (included in latest DT) to 1.40, (Don't know if this even matters as I had it working ONCE before this)

2: Mount the Maxi-image with DT (Daemon Tools) I think you can with Alcohol too but as I said, this is what works for me.

3: Use YASU (latest)

4: Open Alcohol 120%, at the top left hand there is a button to make an image. Many believe this to be a form of loading down the virtual drive. Make the image of the drive with the Maxi-image mounted, any name, just get it to start.

5: almost immediately after step 4, run the game normally.
It might take 2 or 3 tries but it should work. Afterward you can cancel the image by alt-ctrl-delete. It doesn't matter if you let it go though, you can just delete it later.

I hope this works, might take a bit of tweaking, and I find multitasking with Afterlight can cause it to crash after a bit. ( though I haven't played enough to figure it out completely. ) Looks like a good game though. Last UFO I played was Apoc. It was awesome while it lasted.

Why make another image of an image, surely the original is better to make with.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The image being made is important, it's a strange thing I've never heard of till now. From what I understand the securom version isn't bypassable yet. Even with the newest version of load securom, it still didn't work for me, but this did. The file copy method is similar in that the virtual drive is loaded down and somehow (damned if I know why) it just lets it go, either because the verification timed out, or magic elves make it this way, I dunno.

The image itself isn't important, but the fact that the image is being made while securom is verifying IS. Hope this helps. I'll be back if not.

Thanks for the help. I tried it several times, but still couldn't get it to work. Am I doomed to have to wait for the no cd crack?

Bought a copy of the game a few days ago, slight struggle to get it going as my DVD drive decided to die so I tried an image from another PC. I finally managed to get it going by just messing about with procyon,asr,Yasu pr0n.stop and anything I could get my hands on. Random chance got it working for one evening... This morning it was buggered again. (I mean the "insert the original disc instead of a back-up (1000)" error)

Scoured the net for hours to find a solution until I read "fxingworkdamit"'s post....WELL DONE! :D It worked, took ages to load up but it did work.

Procyon is the new name of SecuROM Loader (read the forum FAQ and see GCW's CD hider utilities page) as well as one of the brightest stars on the sky (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procyon).

Guyz,i got 1,and its not including copy methods then pray ,and run around with vodoo dolls so maybe u can get this thing working.
Simply replace the exe with the 1 from the demo,i've tried it on my two comps,its working on both(1intell 1amd) so its not supposed to make any problems,but there is 1 little tinny catch,the ten day limit from demo stays...hope it helped a few ppl out

Wait, i'm confused. Is procyon just the newest version of securom that is listed at GCW? Cuz that version is 6 months old. Anyone have a link to the newest version?

Yah, the demo.exe loads the game. Great find. But, I gets various error messages at different times -- though it does seem to work overall. Just the ten day limit isn't fun

My only suggestion for you guys is to continue using your original for now, until a more workable solution is found.

procyon loader is simply a modified asr (anti securom loader), they deserve no credit, as its a simple binary patch, and the code was technically 'stolen', now in their nfo's they state to use the 'tools provided', with their latest releases that has been yasu 1.07, so yeh procyon loader is out of date, daemon tools people made a new version of asr, which i haven't tested, you could try that but it seems most people are happier using yasu, and curerom seems dead in the water too...

the 10 day can be skipped easily,once in 10 days modify the registry...easier then every time start to try making the image maker magic of 'em:)

nope not really i don't think i'm really capable of doing it,u on the other hands got more skills...:) only need to remove the 10 day limit from the exe,then it's working as a full crack

but u said it could be moved easily.... i thought from that you actually tried it..

THIS WORKS
First mount image with DT, then run YASU, now copy "Dat3.cab" from image to desktop, while Dat3.cab is copying wait about 3 seconds, then click play. This seems to work for everyone. :)
Afterwards just delete Dat3.cab from desktop.

You should only have to do this once, after that UFO al will run everytime without the copying of the Dat3.bat.
Dont ask me why it works but it does.
