Runaway 2
 

Hello,

i´ve used the "Runaway 2 [GERMAN] No-DVD/Fixed Image" frome the File Archive , mount the image in Daemon Tools 4.08 and start the "Y.A.S.U v1.03". The Game startet but then there comes a Menu that asks "play from the beginning" or "start episode 1" (i have the German Version, it says it in german). All the same which I select, it says " please insert DVD 2" :confused: DVD2??? whers is it? there was only one DVD in the Cover and 5,9GB is enough or isn´t it. What goes wrong.

Create a full image with Alcohol and try again; if you get error code 1000 use the mds file of the fixed image instead of your own.
If you don't have/want to install Alcohol, you can create an ISO, rename that to *.MDF and also use the mds file of the fixed image.

You did not install the game with a real full install.

Fixed exe makes error
 

Hi,
I also had no luck with the fixed image :-( .... tried now the fixed exe and after the first intro there is a error message *there is an error in runaway.exe* ...
Before, I installed the game completely from the DVD.
Has somebody already experience with the fixed exe file ?

fixed exe is only for french version.

It does not work und other languages.

it is installed completely, Filesize on the HDD is 5,93GB

sorry, in my first posting is a little mistake, it don´t ask for DVD 2, it ask for "Runaway 2 DVD"

Remove cds from physical devices to only have the image mounted in dt.

Start YASU and hide dt.

Try starting the game.

Ingame-checks by Securom sounds new to me :confused:

Is the french version copy protection different from the german one ?

Is Runaway 2 released??? I thought it was due next spring. Have I missed something?

french protected by tages and german protected by suckurom.

any chance to transform the french version into the german ?

It dosen´t work:( then i´ve changed the .mds files from the FileArchive with them from my Image and try again but then the game dosn´t start (plese insert the right DVD)

Would you please post the exact Securom error message + code ?

I am running R2 with a full Alcohol image + the mds of the MAXI; no problems

P.S.: I wasn't able to create a working MAXI, too. Don't have a clue what Securom is looking for at this title. As far as i can see all needed sectors are in the image, but when loading a savegame -> "Insert R2 DVD" :confused:

Maybe it is not a cd check by securom but by runaway 2 itself like in runaway 1 :)

I have exactly the same problem like Homer Jay. I can start the game with the fixed image from gcw but if I want to start a new game there is the message " Please Insert Runaway 2 -DVD" . Can´t someone program a NoDVD Crack? I mean there is one for Gothic 3 which has TAGES and there isn´t one for a game which has "only" SecuROM?????;) Would be nice if you could help me...Thx

Securom 7.29 seems to be a little harder to crack.

The french nocd doesn't work...when you save your game and change screen, you exit to windows directly...

If you launch R2 and then try to load the saved game...same reaction !

No problem until you try to save....

I saw that Reloaded released a crack for the english version, and that it has Tages protection. Have anyone tried that with the french version?

well, tried on german version. does not work. should be same on french version.
seems to me to be a problem with the bublisher-video, because if it tries to play it, it always crashes at that moment (also with french nocd).

I dont have the german version，but I have the english version.
The english version will check file(s) in disk when it run.
I think the german version also need check file.
so i create another maxi-image, it fixed from bended's maxi-image and english version image.

i dont test the maxi-image, because i only have english version.

maby it can be worked.

- Install the game - Full Installation
- Mount the ns-Runaway2_maxi-poseden.mds Image in Daemon Tools v4.08
- Run YASU 1.03/1.04
- Play the Game!

I looked at reloadeds English crack and think if you change bytes at offset 0x00015CC0 in the file from 81 EC 08 02 to 33 C0 40 C3 it may make it NoDVD, It might crash it too but it looked about the right place for the DVD check :)

Can't test as the UK version is not released till the middle of next month, I think Canada and Australia have English versions in stores now, lucky bastards :(

Ok, today I got this game started!!! This is for the german users:
To get the game started:

1. Download an unpack the fixed image from gamecopyworld.
2. Now start the game using Daemon Tools 4.08 (you need two Virtual Drives) and Yasu 1.04.
3. When you're asked for the "Runaway 2 DVD", press the "Windows-Key" (next to the "Alt" Key. Now the game should be minimized to the tray.
4. Now its time to load the image from which you installed "Runaway 2" into the other Virtual Drive. (Alternatively you can put your Backup-DVD into a drive.)
5. Now you click on "Runaway 2" in your taskbar to maximize it again.

Now the game loads and you can play the game!!!! Have fun!!!!!!!

P.S.: It is exactly what poseden said - the german game checks some files or one file (I don't know) on the games dvd. When you mount the "Installer Image" after the game has started (as described above) the game will continue!

No need to Alt+Tab when using two virtual drives, first vdrive: Bender image, second: Poseden

P.S.: ... and no need to have two drives/images when using full image ;)

Your 44(+10) sectors-image doesn't pass Securom check (though mds is the same), "only" ingame check.
What are they looking for :confused:

I dont know！i dont have german version, so i dont know the german version how to work.
If must mount 2 images, then not need my maxi-image, only a "45 sectors mini-image" is ok.

Yes, a "45 sector MINI" does pass ingame check :)

Just to sort that out as a reason why your MAXI doesn't pass Securom check: The 45 sectors are identical in german and UK version

I would really appreciate it if anyone would give me a link to an English version mini/maxi image, because i didnt manage to find one.

(i understand that poseden's and bended's are for the German version)

Yes, I did, But unfortunately the RELOADED crack is just a fixed exe, not a NoDVD, meaning I need a mini/maxi image to play without the game's DVD.

Check my post a page back, if you know how to use a hex editor you might want to be a 'Guinea Pig' for trying the NoDVD hack ;)

You could also download Mini-Image Ripper on this page and make your own as I think that will work due to it not needing to rip any protection:

well thx! but I am really bad computer woman =( can you do me a favor and rip an english version DVD? or make that modification as a favor for me? I am not so positive that it would really help though.. =(

OK, I patched the reloaded crack and uploaded it to Turboupload:

Download it, use WinRAR to extract the file and copy it to your game directory then test it and see if it works! Make a backup of the Runaway2.exe so you can replace it if the crack does not work.

As for making a mini-image, seeing as I don't have the game I can't make one! If you don't know how to make an ISO image of your DVD then mini-image ripper won't help you.

Wow, You must be very smart, since it Works!!, I did manage to get the game started (using german mini image, didnt check without it) got past the difficult screen (after i clicked on "play runaway from the beginning" it didn't ask for a DVD!) and then the movies started.. since i still didnt have time to start playing i just watched the movies and it works! i can't give further details on stuff like chpaters>1 or save/load but it looks good! i will also try to make the mini-image you suggested (i do know how to do it) and check how it goes with it.

Smart? Not really, someone taught me that trick to patch some CD/DVD checks, so the 'smart one' is the person who showed me :)

I think the DVD check kicks in when loading a save game, Zulu mentioned it did this when he tried loading a save game, so try saving/loading a game to truly test it!

could anybody please upload the german crack from silentgate released some hours ago?

Does the german crack run smoothly ?
