Hi evereybody

here is my problem i have bought armed assault but i doesnt work because of my dvd/CD drive so i have searched the i-net 4 a crack but i didint found anything .the only thing i have found is an modified mds.file that shoult solve the problem but everytime i try to mount it with deamon tools it gives me the message : "unable to mount, cant access mds.file or something....
now i have to ask what i have done worng because it seems that it should work by other people so i hope someone can help me out and try me to explain what i have done wrong or maybe someone have a crack already or another trick do make it run

ok i have solved the problem if somebody else have still the same problem wirte here i will show you how it works

I hope you bought the CZ Version, as all other Versions are not only buggy but even unplayable. In Germany they even recalled to the stores, which they will do in other countries except CZ, too.

If you DO own the CZ Version, then it might be a problem with the Starforce Copyprotection. Need a new/better drive then ;)

German version is protected by SecuROM that effected the performance from the game severely. However they have released a patch today that fixes the problem with the german version.

game plays fine for me,hope someone makes a no cd\dvd for it..the noise of the disc spinning drives the missus mad when she's watching her soaps

Use Alcohol to make an image of your Arma DVD to obtain .mdf and .mds images, if you're image somehow isn't a 1:1 copy, replace the existing .mds with the 'fixed' .mds then mount it in Daemontools. You're getting the error because the .mds requires an .mdf image to mount.

and both files - .mdf and .mds - have to be named the same of course (the label of the .mds-file).

Since I had installed the patch 1.01 for the german version, I can´t play AA, because securom detect that there is no original DVD.
Is there any possiblity to play v 1.01 ?

Use the German fixed image from GameCopyWorld, as well as something like AlkiSecuROM to bypass DaemonTools blacklisting.

I lend myself a copy from Videoworld to try out with the 1.01 Patch before I buy it "back" (look above). Well...it still runs really bad, even with Settings to normal.
Own a AMD64 3500+, 2GB Ram, X1900XT (512MB)...

I tried with the image and alkisecurom, too, but performance doesn't seem to change.

i think we all should stop to play this game^^ this game is more a beta or alpha version then a final one....i have never seen a game befor which was such a unplayable.....do not buy this game !!!

I'am sorry but I have to disagree with you there, the game is quite playable on a system with a fairly decent processor, as well as the latest patch fixing the performance issues with SecuROM on the German edition. As for the game not scaling down to cater for older systems, by the sound of you're complaints, that is unfortunate and hopefully is improved through further patching, otherwise the game is quite playable in it's current state. :cool:

You can lend copies of the Game here in Germany, which is good, because most Games don't have a demo anymore. Although I already had a copy, but gave it back (on the day of the patch release) due to the performance stall...
As I'm a big Operation:Flashpoint-Fan I would never have an illegal copy of the Sequel which is worth being supported. Though, I'm not so sure about that anymore because of the bugs :D

With so many different combinations of hardware you can have for your PC these days, bugs will happen. Its not like a PS3/XBOX360 etc where its all the same hardware used.

So in PC land you will always get problems with games, some people will have major ones others with the same game will have no problems at all.

with v1.0 the mini image worked for me perfect
but with the 1.01 update i get new problems

mini image doesnt work, made my own image, but it doesnt work, too

i start the game, normaly it looks for the disk and the securom cursor appears
but now my cursor changes only for 1 or 2 sec. to a sandclock and thats it - nothing more happends

if i activate 1 of my physikal roms i every time get the message : pls insert your CD in (physikaldrive letter)

someone knows what i can do ?

I patched my armed assault up to 1.02. now alkisecurom doesn't work. does anybody has an idea how to start the game now?

i just bought the cz. copy off the internet and downloaded it. installed fine, and when i updated to patch 1.02, it asks for me to put in the cd. i dont have a cd cuz i did an online buy/dl. any way to run the game?!

Read forum rule #1! We don't give support for online downloaded games!

the download-version is already ver 1.02- I think you have to de-install, then (after booting again) re-install without patching after installing cause itś already ver. 1.02

Ok. At first I want to thank you all for the many hints you gave me.
But: I can´t start that game.
I tried it with all Versions of the Game (up to 1.02) and the Versions of YASU (1.03 to 1.05) but I still receive the error message.
I tried the same with AlkiSecuRom (it taked me hours to figure out that its the same like asr.exe, or isn´t it?) but it still won´t work.
Is there any other way to start this game without the DVD? Are some smart guys working on a cracked .exe or a mini-image?

By the way, I own the german version of the game.

o i wish a no cd would come out so i can even just play the demo, drives me bananas when they starforce demos.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I have submitted a crack for Armed Assault German version. Cracked by Genesis, probably only works for the German version and without any patches. Haven't tried other languages or versions.

All the mirrors to download latest english 1.04 fixed image are dead. What's up ?

Neah, I think that would be GCW staff job to fix those. Most likely they are on their free time and didn't had the time to check. I can bet that monday this will be fixed.

Hey, is the English no-cd crack at GCW for 1.4? Because it doesn't say anywhere that it is for 1.4, so I was just wondering if anyone can confirm.

It's a mini-maxi image.Should work on any patch, provided that they didn't changed the protection in the patch.

ArmA german v1.04? Do you mean 1.02? Dark Messiah is 1.04!
