guys i have a strange problem with the game. when im, running it it start the installation od reservoir dogs ??? and after i cancel that installation and run again the game it crashes. anyone has encounter the same problem

I used this file but it doesn't work for me.
btw: I'm using the english version

I'm getting kicked back to the desktop after initiating the .exe. I was reading the "readme" file on known issues and it said to update your DirectX to the latest version or you might not be able to start the game. I'm also running a Geforce 6600 with forceware 91.47 drivers. I'm wondering if this isn't a video card issue here.

yeah got the same prob all my drivers and direct x are uptodate so think the version i have faulty, in terms of the actual game.

also the game version i have is 1.00.1 and the no cd is 1.00 any difference is there?

yup, a .1 of a difference :)

both .exe's are the same of version
my game version is 1.0.0.1
no cd is 1.0.0.1

so what is going on then i wonder maybe all our sources are corrupt?

Hi, umm i cracked the game rii then when i go to the mission of the bank when u put ur new account in the bank then access tonys options exotics then i purchase henchmen then driver after that it says press [ESC] to exit i press [ESC] on my keyboard and nuffin happens i hit [ESC] over and over it doesnt exit and i hit [T]Info on my keyboard nuffin happens either why is that?? can anybody help??? I would really appreciate it {TY}

Specs? Geforce card, MB-Raid? Are you running creative drivers. Looks like the kick back to the desktop is related to DirectX, sound card. Try turning down your acceleration sound and see if this helps. I'm going to give it a try. I also read the Kx drivers might help instead of the creative drivers? Give it a try.
.... No luck with any of the above. One positive note here. The Kx audio drivers are *** kickn' should have been using them along time ago. Back to the drawing board.

will do thanks, as for sound accelaration will try but not gona help due to the fact it does not work with out no cd exe it says "starforce 7000 error" and with gamecopyworld no cd it gives me reservoir dogs search for cd!?!?!?

will have to take back and get ps2 version me thinks dam starforce nonesence.

hey *5Lito5* it looks like you and me are haveing the same exact problem.........i cant escape after the driver select, and just get stuck in that menu. i did notice that the numpad arrows work but thats about it...i havent found anything online that even mentions our problem. have you had any luck?

lol tell me about it such a weird error i get after clicking on the shortcut "insert Resevoir dogs cd 1" :eek: nuts that.

I presume what you are saying 'Sir Bob' is when you click on the Scarface shortcut the Resevoir Dogs game starts instead?

its Sir with capital SIR :P ..but not initially a Scarface window pops up full screen but wit the top grey bar visible saying Scarface and black screen, when I tab out I get a a Resevoir cd request for cd 1?

I have had problems in the past for other reasons but man this is the first time i have been asked for a dif game cd most strange.

Would they be the type of problem where you start a game install and a completely different install starts, instead of the game?

And do you also have an ATI Graphics Card?

well when i say problems i mean things like i have the wrong version of the no cd or my game auto updates but this is not the case, and yeeah i have a ati 9800xt but ive taken the game back will get it for th ps2 instead.

Is resevoir dogs also Securom, if so, it may have got the messages from the registry the wrong way about.

yeah well i did guess it was from my end as i did have dogs installed but i searched my comp and found no files about dogs, any also iam too much of a novice to go searching in registry id just screw it up like it did with my windows 95 back in the day (learnt me lesson then, to leave software alone) :)

yup think res. dogs is securom protected.. though i think the messages for securom are stored in the securom exe.... not the registry.. its a very bizarre problem tho

Had a similar problem once. Inserted the Painkiller cd after installing, and it gave me a setup for C&C Generals Zero Hour :confused: Anyways, I dled the Painkiller crack off of gcw and then all was good :)

Might have a fix here guys. Unplug your joysticks or gamepads. Go to Windows Update and get your critical updates. A bunch of new ones today. One of which is the Net 2 framework update. Reboot and all that **** and then you might need to reinstall and you should be good to go.

contact securom tech support i guess sir bob :)

and tell them i use a no cd , they will go to use technical term "bananas" :D if i don't use it i get a starforce error so either way iam screwed. iam between a starfore error and a screwed up registery.......grrr most annoyed as been having this prob for days and game look so goo o boo hoo :(

So you are not only having problems with the wrong game starting, you are having problems with the wrong protection message??
The game is protected with Securom. ;)

Does the game start properly when using the original discs to play?

Pardon for jumping in but it sounds like the .exe have been switched somehow but its showing a different icon in the case of bobs rdogs. Have you tried replacing the nocd again and take a look at the location of where properties for the game .exe.

yup, thats a possibility, or bob has competely screwed up his pc :).. (or a mix of the 2).. same happens when using the virgin exe (ie: protected original) bob?

I used to have a problem where when I started the autorun for certain games it used to start my ATI drivers installer instead!! And the problem wasnt limited to just one type of installer either.
The games did however install correctly if I just skipped the autorun and installed straight from the Setup.exe.
The problem turned out to be with my ATI card. I completely uninstalled the drivers, removed any entries from the registry and reinstalled.
Everything fixed. :)

Just something worth considering and its why I asked if you had an ATI card Bob. ;)
