When you use the mini image (by BLeH!) you don't need the cracked exe.
Simply mount the mini image in a virtual drive and start the original exe.
This works for each update.

hoenstly, this is what i hoped after installing p1.03 and before searching for new files.... but it didnt work anymore after patching with the same image... ??!

@clonyyy
Most likely updated blacklisting -> Try using Prot.Stop 1.0 or CureROM (lite) before starting the game

Game works fine using only BleH! mini-image plus Daemon-Tools 4.03. No hider needed or anything.

GLH 14-08-2006 07:43

It's important to install Alcohol120% and/or DaemonTools in ExpertMode and set the driver names to something else than the standard.

...i have patched bf2 to 1.3 again...reinstalled dameon from 3.47 to 4.03... loaded several images besides from (BLeH!).... tried cure rom lite... it all doesnt work... what can i do else

See forum FAQ entry V/1 for information on how to rename the virtual CD emulator device.

I havent changed any driver names with either Daemon or Alcohol and I use the v1.3 update but I do use my own created mini image. Not that my mini image would be any different to Bleh's.

...the searchFAQ cant find anything. anyway does the rename help...?

clonyyy 14-08-2006 08:11

@Grumpy: may i try out ur mini-image?

Joe Forster/STA 14-08-2006 08:11

You can find a direct link to the forum FAQ (not the board FAQ!) in my signature...

@Clonyy
Honestly it is not hard to create your own mini image! Read how to create a mini image here.
Once you create one, you will always know how to do it and then you wont need to rely on anyone else to create one for you.
Btw, you do need the original disc to create the mini image.

EDIT: Ok I just tested the BLEH mini image and it all worked fine! So you are definately doing something wrong?
Did you install from the original discs? Do you actually own the original discs (or DVD)?

Like I said previously, I have Alcohol 120 v1.9.5 (Build 3823) installed, I have Deamon Tools 4.03HE installed. Both these programs have been installed with the default driver names, nothing has been changed.
I dont allow either of these programs to Autostart when Windows start, I start them manually when they are needed.

My BF2 mini image stays permanently mounted.

When I originally mounted it I started up Daemon, right clicked the icon in the system tray, scrolled to the top of the menu to 'Virtual CD/DVD-Rom' and chose 'Mount Image'. I only have one virtual drive set up in Daemon.
The Explorer window opens to show me the 'false' contents of the mini image, I close this window, then I exit Daemon Tools by right clicking the system tray icon and choose 'Exit'.

Then I Double click the original BF2 desktop icon to play! This works for BF2, Special Forces, Euro Force and Amored Fury.

I dont use any other hiding programs! And my BF2 is updated with the v1.03 update.

Easy. ;)

hey thanx for ur quick guide, but thats really strange that it doesnt work at me.... hmmmm, since i made the same procedures as u did with daemon. and i have this problem on 2 pcs and the 2nd has SF installed too. i only needed p13 for coop since its to copious with that "inofficial SP workaround" when having several players in LAN
