on toca race driver 3
hy everybody..
i have a big problem with this game.. i have an original copy, i boutght it because is the only one that suppose to work... that's wrong.. when i start the game it's all good for 5 minutes, then the screen starts blinking and the system shut down !!! It seems like a sort of cd check, but i have the original one inside, i don't have alchool or daemon installed, i have patched the game to 1.1...??? the same dvd on another pc is good.. what should i do ?? the starforce consider my copy like a reloaded one ? should i delete starforce or dvd check via reloaded cra**?? i really don't know help me please:confused: :( :( :( |
(Wrong forum, moved.) If you have crack-unrelated problems, contact the publisher for help. Also, read the PC Games forum FAQ for some general hints.
|
no answer from codemasters, probably i'll need a crack to make it work, but the reloaded one doesn't work. any suggestion ?
|
Codemasters Custome Disregard
My suggestion: Let them pay back your money, cause software infected with starforce isn't worth a penny.

on toca race driver 3
with an original copy of the game, after 5 minutes playing, the pc shut down.
i have tried the reloaded one but the problem is still the same. i have uninstalled the original game, tried to clean the reloaded one from starforce, applied the no-dvd check from reloaded, made an image compliant to the specifications of the original, unplugged the optical drive... all !!! but the pc shut down after 5 minutes playing.. what shoul i do ?? thx:confused:  p.s. it's not an heat problem, my cpu works around 55c° and the warning is on 75c° |
If the original AND the crack are doing the same thing then it's your machine at fault!
Best report this to Codemasters, the publisher of the game via their support form: http://www.codemasters.co.uk/support/contact.php or read their FAQ: http://www.codemasters.co.uk/support...hp?gameid=1730 |
heat problem with GPU-Graphic Process Unit not CPU it's all. Go to graphic driver inter face and open the temperature of GPU dysplay, let it open and run the game, IF your game shut down the computer after 5 minute than press the WINDOWS key after 4 minutes and check the temperature after 3D activity, if they are over 60° C is an abnormal temperature, buy and mount a cooler they respect this name "ZALMAN" :D
|
did it.. the vga temperature is ok.. it's like the old fade by codemasters..
before the shut down the game blinks 2 or 3 times, like an alt-tab, and then force the shut. codemasters didn't answer my question. i read about other players that have a problem of auto-restarting, and i remember that also toca 2 did the same trick to my pc.. probably it's just a matter of cleaning the protection system, but the starforce cleaner is not enough.. HELP ME PLEASE. |
1°) Computer shut down by 3D activity is most part of time a graphic adapter problem.
2°) check your graphic adapter driver, motherboard chipset and agp port driver update. 3°) after a proper uninstall from game make a new installation NEVER LAUNCH THE GAME WITH ORIGINAL EXE FILE. 4°) use the NoDVD "TOCA Race Driver 3 v1.0 [ENGLISH] No-DVD Patch 19-07-2006 by nonspin ", Replace the original RD3.EXE file with the one from the File Archive #1. Extract the RD3.PATCHER.EXE Patch from the File Archive to the game directory. Execute the Patch to remove the CD-Check from: RD3.EXE Play the Game! They run proper and if doesn't work than buy a new graphic card with DX9 compatibility certification. Can you give a description from your hardware? 5°) It's possible you have a hardware problem or you run an overclocked computer? 6)° if you run XP sp2, with a VIA chipset motherboard, remember, only the windows SP2 default AGP port driver run proper. http://forums.viaarena.com/messagevi...&enterthread=y |
OK, latest driver done, uninstallation done correctly, installed the reloaded version from daemon tools 4, installed the no-dvd patch, replaced the exe, patched.... 5 minutes and... all off ! my hardware is:
mb gygabite GA-8I915P Duo Pro cpu p4 560 3.6 ghz non-overclocked with silenttower and 12" fan ram kingston 2x512 mb ddr dual channel vga ati sapphire 850xt non-overclocked 4x 250 gb hdd maxtor sata raid 1 dvdrw pioneer... all with latest drivers and bios. no problem with other games, starforce protected ones included... this seams just a sort of protection error, like a dvd check or a ring0 check (now i've installed alchool latest version and daemon latest version, + zone alarm pro latest, so a lot of things on ring0). Could it be another copy protection inside the exe code ? somebody told me about the "fade" protection of codemasters.. in fact before running the game there's no starforce installed on my pc... I REALLY WANT TO PLAY WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL GAME !!! |
(Don't run two threads in parallel about the same topic! Threads merged.)
|
hey Joe, in this section nobody will answer me... I need a concrete help, i'm sure that the problem is something related starforce or other protection system..
thx |
OK it's clear it seam, you have a hardware compatibility problem with this game, only way to solve their is an official game update and nothing other can help.
Run the game on your older computer and it run proper. Have fun is only a game........... |

@leleware: Your problems is NOT related to cracks. Therefore, its place is in the General Gaming forum. Period.

yes i have.. but is the same... now i've cleaned all again and i'm trying to install the original one and then the sequence of no-dvd, crack and patch from reloaded. i'll let you know asap if it works... but by now i've a bad sensation about it. thx everybody
|
ok, no way to make it work.. i give up...
|
ok i did it... the problem was my vga, the sapphire radeon x850.. it reports 60c° on full load, but with an external sensor i've a 99c° !!! so i've downclocked it a little, disabled the vpu warning and setted the details level of the game to medium. during this week i'll buy a good fan for the vga. thank you all. bye
|
Such overclocking and temperature problems could be added to the FAQ in the general gaming solutions entry, hmmm?
|
i hope so, but mine is not an overclocking.. i used the default frequencies and in stand bythe real temperature was 77c°, really high.. under heavy load over 100c°.. now i have to understand if it's normal ore there's some kind of problem... we'll see. bye
|
Make sure if you have a back case fan, that is blowing out and not in, as it will be circulating the PSU's hot air back into the case.
|
i have 3 fans 12", 2 back for extraction and 1 up for in.. but i also have 4 hdd sata 250 gb hot like hell.. i've noticed that also a friend of mine had the same problems with the radeon 850xt.. probably i'll change it for a 1950 xt.. by now i'm playing at 800x600 with medium details and the temperature is around 85c°..

Or use your computer for gaming in the the cellar (la cave) its cooller as in living room or little chambre with hot tv and some sources of heading! GPU (graphic process unit) over 60° C is to high can not run proper impossible and will dispatch the temperature to all other components. |
well, in this moment, with only the browser open and the vga downclocked at 440mhz(was 520) for the gpu and 451 mhz(was 540) for the memory, the ati control panel shows 73c°... and my p4 560 at 3.6ghz with silenttower just 61c°... ok i'm thinking seriously about a Zalman.....
|
Both are way too much! (When XviD-ripping DVD's with the GordianKnot, at 62 degrees Celsius of CPU temperature, the conversion crashes; that's the maximum my CPU, an Athlon XP 3200+, can bear with.)
|
my cpu is 2 yeras old and still run around 60, sometimes 70c° under hard gaming.. about the vga i always had heat problems with ati... but for me this is not he right financial moment to buy a good case, some good fans, a great vga etc. etc. now i've removed the vga fan and put some silver thermal on the chip... go a little better, 52 with no load, 68 under heavy load...
|
Hmmm, must be the difference between how close the CPU thermometers are to the CPU on different motherboards. Or, perhaps, CPU thermometers are already built inside modern CPU's...? Or, perhaps, Intel CPU's can cope with 10 degrees more?
