After new patch for DARKSTAR ONE i can't use ProtStop
 

Hi,

Darkstar One worked with ProtStop + mini_Image but today darkstar one 1.1 released & i cant play with the image. I think protstop dont work with the new version. Somebody knows more?

i think protectDISC 6. After the image scanning there is a message, "cant read cd/dvd ... bla bla, you can visit the page:
h*tp://www.protectdisc.com/help/emulators.html "

I bet it's only a blacklist problem.
When a new version of Pr0tSt0p is released, the mini image will work again.

DarkStar One (Patch 1) is ProtectDiSC v7.1.x.xxxx wich blacklists ProtStop in its newest version.
simply scan it with the latest Protection ID ;)

how to use the information?
 

I downloaded the tool and scanned the .exe File..
but how can I use the infos to get the game started?

Cdkiller's methods should work in this case.

infos? If this means .NFO then you may not wanna metion it..

Infos is short for information, as in information generated by PID.


To the guy, the information generated by PID doesnt help you play the game, just lets you know what protection is involved.

Hopefully pr0t.st0p or something like it will be updated. dont wanna miss this patch!

when will be prot.stop updated? Or where is their homepage?...

I don't think Pr0t.St0p has a homepage. However, if I remember correctly, SR7.Stop is the next version of this software, with a new name; use that instead. See the download link in the forum FAQ.

I don't thonk there will be an update regarding ProtectDISC 7 (actually ProtStop never was meant for that purpose, only for Securom and Safedisc), but you can ask the authors [email protected] In their forum there is no answer, yet LINK

I asked MB-Soft if they plan to realese a new version of Pr0t.St0p and got the following reply:

Which means that there could be a new version soon but right now MB-Lock has the highest priority. After they released MB-Lock they want to concentrate on Pr0t.St0p to make it work with (or against) the latest protection.

At least there is some hope now.

I got Darkstar One working now with the latest patch 1.1.

You have to use the old D-Tools 3.47 + Virtual CD Hide 1.0.0.4 to hide the D-Tool drive and than you can play Darkstar One after mounting the Mini-Image.

Try it yourself.

Virtual CD Hide v1.0.0.4, scroll down the page to 'CD/DVD Hide Utilities', you will see Virtual CD Hide in the list, click on it to be taken to the download link. ;)

Where can i find this mini image?

Because i downloaded D-tools 3.47&virtual cd hide,i mount the image,i receive a error mesage from win then the image is mount in D-tools use vrtual drivers,press hide & nothing when i try to enter the game it say that i don't have the DVD....:confused:

Has anyone got this working with Darkstar One v1.2?

I think I've tried all the suggested combinations of DT 4.03, DT 3.47, Pr0tStop 1.0, VirtualCDHide v1.0.0.4 and the "bended" German DVD image, but it still keeps prompting to "Please insert original DVD of Darkstar".

When mounting the "bended" image, is it normal to get the message "Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows."?

Thanks for the reply Zulu. That image is better (at least it is recognised as a DVD and contains some "files"), however the game doesn't seem to recognise it as a Darkstar DVD at all, it just says to "Please insert DVD of Darkstar" (a slightly different error to when it fails the check for the original DVD).

Doesnt mean the update/patch has now done anything as you are using an old exe. So basically it is like you havent updated your game at all.
It depends if the exe was actually updated/changed during patching? If not then the old exe would be ok.

in the optins screen i can choose from 5 different difficultys this was changed in the patch so at least some new features work i could not figure out if all fixes and new faetures of the patch work because i´ve experienced problems with inverted colous(looks very funny:rolleyes: ) that occure after a few minutes...

many problems with corrupted graphics the version mixture 1.0crack on 1.1patch doesnt work correctly...(now useing my original DVD but i hate changeing CDs;) )

VirtualCDHide v1.0.0.4 doesnt work on my pc i cant hide virtual CDs anyone same problem solution? is there an alternative to VirtualCDHide v1.0.0.4?

BUT: DONT FOLLOW STEP 6.! just keep the original patch 1.1 WalPlugSpace.wex worked for me. I got an error after i exchanged it!

(its iportant to use D-Tools 3.47! otherwise Virtual CD Hide v1.0.0.4 wont work correctly.)

No progress here, are you trying with v1.2 or v1.1?

Tried the mini-image and my own maxi-image with German version 1.1.
Used Daemon Tools 4.06 with sptd 1.35 and yasu (and all the other usual candidates) but no luck at all. :mad:
