Toca Race drive 3
 

Can reloaded or deviance please create a working no_dvd (not mini images) for Toca Race driver 3 as the mini images on this site(*gamecopyworld) don't work even when i mount with dt4.03 and disconnect my dvd/cd drives. I know it uses starforce 3.7 the same protection blazing angels uses which is yet to be cracked.

I made a Copy from the Original with Alcohol (mdf/mds) and use the mds from Gamecopyworld.
Dont delete your mdf image from harddisc, only overwrite your mds file from the one of Gamecopyw. and it works for me.

So i did it:
(like all Starforce-Game-Backups)


Made an mdf/mds-Image with Alcohol

- unplug dvd/cd-drives
- mount mdf Image (DTM Race Driver 3) in DaemonTools 4.03
- Install Game
- Restart PC
- mount the mds from GameCopyworld in DaemonTools 4.03
(dont delete your mdf-Image, only overwrite the original mds with the one from GCW)

- Play Race Driver 3

does it have to be daemon tools 4 and do i have to unplug drives

No, use Win-DVD to mount Image and unplug your Graphics Adapter :confused:

I'm using hp notebook,
so I can't unplug my dvd rom
I used sfnightmare
disable dvdrom from device manager
but still can't play toca 3
what can i do?

Try other CD/DVD hider utilities, too. See the FAQ for a list of them.

use your original then..

you can't hide your drives, the starforce-version is just too "intelligent" and can't be fooled without unplugging.

Dude have you tried to use Virtual Drive Pro 10???? this works for me when playing prince of persia the two thrones!!!! It should work with any starforce protection.... You still mount with dt 4 just use the tools in VDpro 10 to disable your ide drives(cd-rom only that is).

And again: it only works if you got an nFORCE 3/4 mainboard - otherwise this method is absolutely useless and will not work!!!

Oh... and btw... as far as i know: if you got an nFORCE board, you don't need Virtual Drive Pro either. The only thing you have to do is to disable the IDE controller/IDE channel in your windows hardware tab (cause that's the same "trick" VDpro does :rolleyes: )...

Have the mdf and mds the same name?

Or maybe try other Mini Images from Copybase or Gameb*rnworld..

unplugged ide devices with virtuadrive pro 10 ... reboot...
I can't run the installation with the original alcoohol image file... it says
"Can't mount the image. Invalid image file.
However... I changed the .mds and it mounts on, and it loads... but I can't install... the only way to install is directly from dvd rom and than with virtua drive 10 disabling ide devices.. but when comes the time to play it says to insert a toca race driver 3 keyless disc...

VD 10 Trick does not only work on Nforce 3/4 Mobos.
I´ve tested it on two nforce 2 systems where all other software-hiders failed to run starforce games.
(BTW.: Don´t know if nowadays starforces detect VD 10. V3.6 of starforce didn´t)

But I had serious other problems with VD 10 (Blue-Screens, it fails to detect its own virtual drives as virtuals, and the overall performance of my system became unstable.)

Coz´ I had only the trial license, I wasn´t to disappointed. De-Installed the app and everything works fine again.

As far as i know: VD 10 does nothing else than disabling your ide devices the same way you can do by yourself, using the windows device manager :rolleyes: ...

I can't judge by my own experiences - cause i don't have an nforce board. But everyone i heard saying, getting a starforce protected game to work by using daemon tools 4, an alcohol image and VD 10, had an nforce board. You can read it on fileforums and on daemon tools own forum. It seems to work on every nforce 3 & 4 board and some nforce 2 users wrote, that it worked for them too. But it also worked for all of them, disabling their ide channels on the device manager instead of using virtual drive. And no user of intel, via or sis boards could get it to work with VD 10 :( .

So: it's definitely the nforce chipset - but i guess this "leak" will be gone with the next starforce version :( ...

i patched my game to version 1.1...now i cant play using the image mounted on daemon tools and cd/dvd drives unpluged!

anyone have the same problem?

Use a mini image instead and it should work (but you still have to unplug).

that mini-image didn't work on my toca3...why should it work now with the patch 1.1?

As funny as it sounds, but the mini-image works for 1.1, but not for 1.0

If the GCW mini image doesn't work for you, just create your own with ISO Directory 0.5

1. Does the mini-image by Hell-hunteR work for version 1.1 without having to disconnect the IDE drives and without having to use any special Image Tools, or which Tool(s) is/are needed here?

2. Does it also work when mounting this image in Alcohol 120% or is DAEMON Tools 4.0.3 necessary for it?

3. Does this method only work with the english version of the game (TOCA Race Driver 3) or does it also work with the german version (DTM Race Driver 3) or is the game multilingual???

1,2-no,u have to mantain the cd/dvd drives unplugged and mount the mni-image with daemon tools.or u can mount with Alcohol
3- i think the method works with all versions


but anyone noticed that with patch 1.1 the game doesnt work nomore with the full-image?

well,im gonna try with the mini-image...if it doesnt work,i have to unninstal patch 1.1(install the game again:( )
