Hey i've managed to scratch my cd for civ and cant seem to find a no cd for the updated version i've got. Any suggestions on how i can get my game working as the cd is just an expensive coaster right now!

Anywho, ive tried the fixed image for the older versions and they dont work, thinkin it needs to be one specifically for the update???

Remember to hide Daemon-tools ;)

It will still work even with you're supposedly scratched CD which I think doesnt even exist!

I have the same problem!!!

Civilization 4 will not accept the DVD when patch 1.52 or 1.61 is installed.

With patch 1.09 it works just fine.

The support just says take out the current cd-rom and insert cd-rom 1. Good work for a game that is on DVD :rolleyes:

So i'm also waiting for a noDVD patch for version 1.61.

Its coz you have a pirated copy so it wont work

All my games are original including Civilization 4!

I have the cover, the map, the +200 pages manual and the DVD.

Reading above, I do not understand how people can pirate this game. But if you say so. I guess. And I am guessing by pirate, it means some way of stealing it???

When I realize that I left my CDs at home (because I am at college now), I can not play it. (And I am too cheap to ask my brother to ship it to me. Also it will be a waste since the semester is closing in.) So I finally found that there is a 1.52 no cd patch. But I like to have the 1.61 no cd patch. So I do like to make this request also for a no cd patch for patch 1.61. :)

Back to the topic with guy that said the maxi image didn't worked I had the same problem. Even used Daemon Tools ( most recent version) and didn't worked but When I used safedisk hider then worked the only bad thing is that I have to usedthe hide/restore option everytime before launch the game to get the mini image to work again. Its strange because other guy in mgforums said he didn't need safedisk hider worked only with mounting. Maybe because I have the spanish version? I don't know really but that way works for me

Yeah, likewise, I got Civ IV for Xmas and installed it on my laptop, 1.52 was working fine, but I didn't bother bringing the DVD back to college. I tried updating to 1.61, but now it just tells me to insert the Correct CD. I assume the problem is cause I don't have the original copy of the DVD here, so I guess I have to wait til a no-DVD fix comes out for 1.61 to play it again...

I didn't realize the no-dvd had to match the version, is that the problem? Anyone else get it to work? thanks

You do realize that this site isn't the home of world-wide cracking groups, that read these forums and crack games based on your requests, don't you?

@60610: By the way, the forum rules explicitly state that if you don't have the original CD/DVD, because you left it at some other place, then you're not eligible for support on this forum...

rlsuth and Joe Forster/STA, sorry I did not pay clear attention to the rules. Since I do not have my CDs with me, I will have no choice for but wait until college is over to go back home. Thanks for both of your responses.

Anyone having any luck with the Civilization IV 1.61 no dvd patch? Or can anyone help me get it? :confused:

I updated to 1.61, I ripped and mounted my disk using Alcohol 120% and using sd4hide v1.1 - Works great, love the new patch BTW.

Hey Morte, just wanted to thank you... I used SafeDisc4 Hider and the 1.61 patch works perfect now, I wish I would have tried that a month ago... Thanks again

I don't see any crack for the 1.61 one... where do you see this? I guess I don't know what "PCGame" is, is it a different site I'm supposed to know about or something?

PCGAME is a crack group that brought out the crack today. It will get on GCW in the next few days, so keep checking the GCW main page.

the procedure entry point restorelasterr could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll

Use the SEARCH button to find related threads (forum rule #4) and use the RestoreLastError fixer by the SND group.

I DID use the search button. searching for restorelasterror has been fruitless.
I did just search for snd group after you post will similar lack of results.
any help you can provide would be appreciated.

yes i did.

But i don't know if really all hidden checks (safedisc has loads of them..) are fully patched.

Ah well, it's still the best version we have so far.
